BTW, how many times did you see the Pats with a Fullback in the backfield?
Can we please move past 1970's Western Pa high school football now? What you saw last night was a clinic in how offenses should be designed to take full advantage of the rules designed to benefit the passing game in 2010 and beyond.
Hopefully the Steelers were watching but the got to see it first hand a couple of weks ago.

I think BA is trying to emulate the Pats with all his formations.
But he's working with Ben, not Tom Brady.
Ben just has a different skill set.

I don't think it has anything to do with a fullback. The Pats have a few things we don't, the biggest of which is a very solid (and healthy) offensive line. They manhandled our pass rush and they did the same to the Jets last night. They are making Green-Ellis and Woodhead look like all-pro RB's. They can actually create running lanes and move a defensive front backwards inside the five. Not to mention, Brady has ALL FREAKING day to stand back there and pick anyone apart. If you want to beat the Pats, you have to find a weakness in that OL and exploit it.

Pats are taking advantage of their smaller, speedier WR and RB, Welker and Woodhead, matched up on LB's. We should design our D to stop this if we play them. They would crap if they came out on offense and we had Ziggy Hood/Keisel lined up in the center with Harrison and Woodley lined up as our ends. Then the other 7 would be a mix match of the fastest LB's and DB's. Play man on their WR and RB's. Have our front 4 get after Brady with blitzes coming from all over the place with our LB's and DB's. This would almost force their hand to the running game.
Meanwhile, when we are on offense we should be shotgun, no huddle the entire game to try and get as many points up on the board as we can and don't take your foot off the gas till the clock reads zero's.

The Browns do some things well, but they certainly aren't good enough to beat the Pats when NE is game-planning for them. I have a sneeking suspician they were looking ahead to their Steelers matchups the next week.

Put Brady behind our O-line, and I guarantee you he retires by the end of the year.
Our O-line is pitifully disgusting at the moment.
Combine that with an offensive coordinator who refuses to adjust to anything opposing defenses are scheming against us..
Sunday night Collinsworth came out with a mindboggling stat of how the Steelers have only scored 16 points in the 3rd quarter all year through 11 games.
Proof Arians cant make any halftime adjustments.
Think Scott, the human turnstile got any help off the edge?
Put a TE or an extra lineman over on the left to help with Suggs?
Max protect, ever see it?
Single back, run play up the middle stopped for a loss only to come back with the same exact play when the penetration is coming up the middle?
9-3 yes I should be happy, but Im not.
Arians will get a free ride again this year Im afraid.

They also have a great offensive line all things considered and Hillis ran wild. I know people want the Steelers to draft a corner back in round one this coming draft or even another d-lineman but I really think we need a tackle or a guard and part of me wants a Guard to put next to Pouncey. I think Starks and Colon if we keep him are solid enough tackles but putting a top tier guard next to Pouncey and keeping the mauler Kemo on the other side gives Ben the time he deserves and the holes Mendenhall will destroy. We need more first round picks on our offensive line. Pouncey alone is proving that this season.

Bingo... stop trying to cover Welker and the other midget with LB's.. and get pressure... pressure is Brady's nemesis.

While I agree with this, I don't think we have the players to execute it. Our OL is getting beat in one-on-one battles on nearly every play. There is always someone wiffing or missing a blitz pickup or 'what have you' as Tomlin likes to say. This line has played with no consistency almost the entire season. The injuries are certainly a reason, but sadly the talent just ain't there to get it done against better defenses.
