I wish him good luck. A screwball for sure, but he was a big part of our 2 Superbowl-winning teams. I wonder how he and Singletary will get along!

My thought exactly. Jeff won't have any trouble finding "friends" who will stroke his enormous ego and whatever else he needs.

He now clearly goes to the top of the list of "NFL players most likely to busted in a massage palor engaging in questionable conduct"

I hope he does well. I have no ill will at all towards him. He was huge for us for many years and I'll never forget how he came onto the team, trying out in the middle of the week and then a couple days later winning the game for us with (if memory serves) 5 FG's against jacksonville and that douche tom coughlin. He was approachable, showed up for charity events and liked to party. that's good by me.

good luck skippy, glad you're in the NFC now!!!

Dude wasn't getting it done this year and letting him go was the right call but he was money for many years for the Steelers. I loved having not one bit of nervousness when he walked out to kick. He was the answser to some bad kickers on this team. I wish him well.

Mike Singletary likes to drop his drawers in the the locker room to motivate his team.

Jeff Reed likes to drop his drawers for cell phone pictures. They'll get along swimmingly.

I wish him luck. Although, his agent said he wanted to sign with a playoff contender . . . the 49ers are not that.

The Niners are in the craptastic NFC West. They are 4-7 and only a game out of first place. Everyone in the NFC West is a playoff contender, since the winner of the fraud of a division will likely be 7-9 (while there may be a 10-6 or possibly even a 11-5 team that misses out on a wild card spot).

Good luck to Jeff. Sorry he lost his confidence (or whatever else happened). He was solid for us for a long time. Remember Tomlin's quote, "You can't ice a psycho!"

And I doubt he'll have to worry about getting along with Singletary for long. I'm thinking that unless they win out, Mike's a goner.

You guys are more gracious than I am. The guy totally flaked out on us this season. He cost us the Baltimore game. Screw him and his future. We don't owe him anything, he isn't on our team anymore because he was a problem. I won't wish problems well.

I stand corrected. :) But with Gore out for the season, I see no way the niners get in even at 7-9.
