I guess to help cover Goodell's ass on the Seymour incident, Mike Ditka did a piece on Football Etiquette. He mentioned the Seymour punch and fine and then gave him a 'Cmon Man!', and that was about the full extent of it. No discussion on comparative fines and actions or some panel at least discussing what it truly takes to get suspended.

In my opinion, now that NFL didnt suspend the repeat offender (throwing helmet) for flagrant behavior outside the whistle, how can they justify any suspension for actual football play?

They way they got around doing anything serious was to lable it fighting and then say Seymore was punished/fined according to the rules regulating that infraction.

He got hit with the equivalent of most of us getting a speeding ticket - we'd be super annoyed but it wouldn't really be a financial loss.
