In order to put Rotheless on the rooster don't we have to cut someone? Who was it? Or haven't they officially done that process yet?

I thought DD was put on IR, which cleared up a roster spot. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm pretty certain I read that they got a roster exemption until sometime next week.

Who is Rothless? Is that supposed to be our friendly neighborhood mod/poster RuthlessBurgher? And by "rooster" are you attempting to make some kind of homosexual slur about him?

Dude, probably not a good idea. :nono

Dixon was put in I.R. in order to bring Steve McLendon up from the practice squad to the active roster for the Baltimore game, because Chris Hoke was out. Since Hoke should recover during the bye week and be ready to go for Cleveland, I'd imagine that McLendon would be put back on the practice squad in order to make room on the 53 man roster for Rothlessrooster.

I think you meant bye weeks. Talking about bi-weeks could get us back into the homosexual slur thing that eni was talking about. Sounds like week-long vacations to San Francisco or Key West for the bi-curious.

Correct. The Steelers have a temporary exemption allowing them to carry 54 players. The exemption expires at some point before the Browns game.

Defensive tackle released Aaron Wilson

Off and on the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster and practice squad, defensive tackle Steve McClendon was cut again today.

He's expected to be signed back to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

By cutting McClendon, the Steelers have created a roster spot as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's roster exemption ends as he has returned from a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

McClendon was signed to the active roster last Saturday off the practice squad when quarterback Dennis Dixon was placed on injured reserve.

McClendon is a 6-foot-4, 300-pounder who was signed last year as an undrafted rookie.

He spent a portion of last season on the practice squad and saw his first NFL action against Tennessee this season.

McLendon finished with one tackle and a fumble recovery in his NFL debut against the
Titans.
