The Pittsburgh Steelers climbed into the top-5, if not higher, in most media outlets' Week 2 NFL Power Rankings. After Sunday's 38-13 dismantling of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Steelers found themselves resting in the top spot of just about every last Week 3 edition. Let's take the usual tour, with several new additions to the roundup this week.

SB Nation: No. 1 ; Last Week: No. 5

Keep in mind that this 3-0 start is coming without Ben Roethlisberger. Their toughest test yet comes to town next week: Ravens. If they can take that game, then it'll be 4-0 without Roethlisberger, which would be truly impressive.

ESPN: No. 1 ; Last Week: No. 5

Who knew fourth-stringer Charlie Batch was the answer to Pittsburgh's QB woes?

CBS Sports: No. 1 ; Last Week: No. 4

Does it matter who plays quarterback? They are 3-0 and have just been dominant on defense. Now comes a real tough test against the Ravens.

FOX Sports Power Rankings: No. 1 (Last Week: No. 2)

I'm starting to feel like the Steelers are going to get on a big run. How big? How about to the Super Bowl -- if SS Troy Polamalu can stay relatively healthy. The Colts aren't too far off, however.

Fanhouse: No. 1 ; Last Week: No. 5

The Steelers continue to thrive without Roethlisberger, and it's reasonable to suggest that their performance this year vs. what they did last year is a sign that safety Troy Polamalu is the league's most valuable defensive player. Now that he's healthy, look at what they're doing.

Yahoo Sports: No. 2 ; Last Week: N/A

Batch delivered more than they could have asked.

Peter King (MMQ): No. 1 ; Last Week: No. 2

OK, Charlie Batch. You knocked off the Bucs. Now you get the Ravens at the Ketchup Bottle Sunday. That'll be a bit more of a challenge.

USA Today: No. 1 ; Last Week: No. 7

Dayum. I like it but I don't like it at the same. I like that the Steelers are playing well. I don't like media hype. Perhaps James' Harrison's "We didn't need the bandwagoners then and we don't need them now" will help keep me steady. :Steel

Who did Yahoo have as number 1?

Who did Yahoo have as number 1?

No big surprise...

1. Indianapolis Colts. Peyton without two top receivers is still better than most QBs.

I was thinking him or Marcia. Even with the loss the media loves him. Whatever. They will both be home watching Ben win #7 in February.

That makes no sense. But I guess some of these people don't tackle ranking teams as "complete teams". There's no way anybody can rank a team like the Colts #1 and have watched how poor their defense is. But that's why rankings don't count for anything but to drive discussion.

You know what!? I have my own rankings! Eat it Yahoo.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers
1a. James Harrison (that's right, he gets his own ranking)
2. Troy Polamalu
3. Dick Lebeau
4. Atlanta Falcons
...
32. Ike Taylor's Hands
33. Cleveland Browns
34. Buffalo Bills

Ha! DVE did a skit about that which is on their Podcast section of their website. I thought it was pretty funny. Can't get the link to it right now but you can get to it from dve.com pretty easily.

This means nothing. Wait until we inevitably lose a game and watch how all these guys try to sell the storyline that the first 3 games were a fluke and how far they drop us in the rankings.

The national media hates this organizations and loves when they fail. They will be like hyenas attacking a wounded animal at the first sign of us stumbling.

Yup, they are just waiting for a reason to pull the plug on us.

I'm sold on us and ATL. So much so that I have some co-workers going to vegas today.

I gave them $100. Asked that they Parlay Pitt to win the AFCC and Atl to win the NFCC with $20. Then a seperate $80 straight up bet on Pitt to win the Super Bowl.

Not sure what casino they will place bet at so I won't know official odds until they make the bet. But I've seen Pitt at anywhere from 9:1 to 11:1 to win SB. Still great odds. Opened season at like 12:1.

It makes sense in a way. We beat the Seahawks and Cardinals in our two most recent SB's. The only bird teams left are the Falcons and Eagles and it doesn't matter to me which one we get to first! :tt2

I don't care much that we're ranked #1 three weeks into the season...I just hope we're ranked #1 after the 21st and final Sunday (SB XLV).
