To my simple way of thinking, if we can protect our QB, we win. So, I'm wondering how likely is it that Batch is going to stay upright?

Apparently they are pretty decent on paper. They have beat the Browns and the Panthers, both of whom are 0-2. I'm thinking the Titans D is probably a bit better than the Bucs D. The question in my mind is "how good is their STs?"

Batch is a capable backup quarterback who won't make many mistakes and should be able to make some plays. He made them against the Titans there were some drops and tough catches to be sure, but the correct reads were there, balls were put in places that only the WR could make a play and the mistakes were minimal.

The Steelers should be fine this week against Tampa.

Since Morris the HC took over as DC last season, they have not allowed more than 16 points (8 game streak). Tim Crowder is the pass rush specialist. He does not start, but he comes in fresh off the bench and rushes from either side well. Look for them to try to test Max's ankle with Crowder. If he has no success there, Crowder will slide over and give Flozell fits. The Bucs tackle very well and have good discipline and team speed. Their best playmaker S Tanard Jackson was suspended this week though. Rookie Cody Grimm will take his place. Grimm was a tackling machine at Va Tech, but he isn't real fast or big. I think the Steelers would be wise to test Grimm with play action passes to his side. The Bucs lack star power, but they are successful and solid as a defense. If we don't win the special teams battle, it could be another very close game.

Has anybody seen McCoy play or heard anything about his play?

Haven't seen him play yet, but it looks like he had 3 solo tackles and a forced fumble against the Browns, then a tackle and an assist against the Panthers. No sacks yet.

Does Bruce Arians know what a "play action pass" is ? :stirpot
