FLORHAM PARK, N.J (AP) -- New York Jets defensive tackle Kris Jenkins has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his surgically repaired left knee and will miss the rest of the season.

Coach Rex Ryan says the extent of the injury was determined Tuesday following an MRI exam. Jenkins was hurt in the first quarter of the Jets' 10-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.

Jenkins was caught in a pileup on a tackle of Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain and immediately clutched his left knee. He remained on the turf for a few minutes, then got up and limped to the sideline.

The 10-year veteran tore the same ACL midway through last season. Monday night's game was his first in the regular season since that injury.

Huge loss for the Jets.

First step towards Steelers winning the Super Bowl this year.

I have a feeling that the way Ray Ray was playing like a mad man last night will catch up to him this year as well. Look for Ray Ray to be injured by mid year.

Who said (other than Ryan and the idiot media) that the Jets were contenders to begin with? The road to the SB was never going through NY anyway.

And now it appears as if a second domino has fallen...

Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders has a torn biceps tendon and is out indefinitely, if not for the season, two team sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

It is not the same arm in which Sanders had the biceps tendon tear last season. He is scheduled to visit Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday to help determine how long he will be out.

Sanders, the league's 2007 defensive player of the year, was injured on the Texans' first offensive series when a pass was deflected by Colts safety Antoine Bethea into Sanders' face mask.

Sanders left his feet and landed awkwardly on his arm.

The Colts have said Sanders hurt the elbow, but they have not given details on the severity of the injury. Sanders ran at practice on Monday and was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam.

He missed all but two games last season with knee and biceps injuries and all but six games in 2008 with other injuries.

He's now played in 48 career games and missed 49 -- a number that could increase if the elbow injury is season-ending.

Sanders, a two-time Pro Bowler, was drafted by the Colts in the second round of the 2004 draft out of Iowa.

I know it's part of the game, but injuries suck!

It would be great to have a Neverland Utopia just one year where nobody got injured, just to see how the teams would stack up completely healthy.

OK, dream over.... carry on! :Cheers

If I'm ever tempted to cheer when a player for another team goes down, I get this sick feeling that a Steeler will then be next.

Besides, I'd rather beat our opponents when they're at full-strength, at their best. It means more.

I don't think it necessarily means anything more. First of all, One Win = One Win...and on to the Super Bowl. Secondly, injuries are a variable each week for every team. Football is the ultimate team sport and the stronger UNITS usually prevail.
