Unless someone picks them up, a bunch of those players cut today should appear on the 8-man practice squad tomorrow.

I would figure the candidates are Frank Summers, Tyler Grisham, Dough Worthington and Kraig Urbik. I知 not sure if Patrick Bailey and Joe Burnett are eligibile but if they are, you値l probably see them there as well as Sunny Harris.

As I said, I知 little surprised by any of the cuts. I thought they might do something with Burnett. But Frank Summers has done little since he arrived here and Isaac Redman is playing fullback and halfback. They also have David Johnson and even Doug Legursky to block in the backfield.

Burnett is one small surprise, but he was surpassed this summer by rookie Crezdon Butler, who also can play safety. If Burnett does not make it, he will forever be haunted or at least remembered for the dropped interception vs Oakland that cost the Steelers a playoff spot.

Goodbye, Stefan Logan, who leaves with the Steelers record book for kickoff return yards. What a shame because he was not that good, no touchdowns, fumbles, etc.

I知 trying to remember the last time they kept 6 wide receivers. I could look it up but it痴 Saturday night and I have to work the next two days of this holiday weekend as well, so I think I値l pass. I do know that keeping 8 rookie draft picks are the most in this century.

I was very surprised by the Burnett cut. But, special teams will be better for it as Madison is very solid. Apparently, Captain Kangaroo has the coaches ear.

while it may be the most drafted rookies to stick in a century, I count 9 rookies from last year on the final 53 if you include Ramon Foster and Stefan Logan who were undrafted.

that seems like alot of youth until you see summers, burnett, urbik and harris washing out in their second year. i would try for urbik and burnett on the PS, and maybe harris, but frank the tank can take a hike.

Logan wasn't a rookie last year. Dude is 29 years old. He was in camp with the Dolphins as an UDFA back in 2007 and has CFL experience since then as well.

no NFL experience.

i saw him called a rookie in several places. no big deal. still was 8-9 "rookies" on the roster.

Urbik claimed by the Bills
Bailey by the Oilers

An "anonymous league source" is claiming the Steelers have signed Frank Summers to their Practice Squad.

"Grain of salt" and all.

I'm still hoping some rookie fieldgoal kicker distinguished themselves but was cut and we could pick him up and get rid of Reed.

They used the franchise tag on Reed. No way he gets cut. A KO specialist, maybe, but still highly unlikely.

Some of the cuts will be signed to the PS?...DUH! Big surprise there, Eddie!

He wasn't sure if Burnett and Bailey were eligible for the PS? I'm pretty sure you can google up this info, Ed. I mean, isn't it sort of your job to find out these things?

And he didn't think a player like Bailey would be snapped up by some other team?

Hard for me to believe that Douchette gets paid to write some of this stuff.

Logan was snatched up by the Lions.

They used the franchise tag on Reed. .

which also means he's been paid his salary for the year

they're not cutting him after paying him for the year

Logan was snatched up by the Lions.

Lions now have Logan & Burelson as returners. At least their ST's should be decent.

In fact, with a 1-2 punch in the running game (as long as Smith stays healthy) & a pretty good recieving corp, if Stafford stays healthy & improves on last season, they might put up some points.

Logan was pretty good and I wonder how good he could be on a good special teams unit. If Logan does make a name for himself I'm sure some will say, " he didn't play like that for us. " The fact is, our special teams are the pits and I believe they already proved they will be worse than last year.

Very true....a good kick-off return guy. I hope Sanders/Brown don't turn out to be Russell/Davenport or Logan will really be missed.

I will be very interested if the Lions use Logan at RB...I still think he'd make a nice little
Sproles-like weapon.

he doesn't have the balance, speed, strenght to be sproles. he falls down way too easy

Logan as a RB is an urban legend. This is not the CFL where you have a overly large field and can start running at the line of scrimmage before the snap.
