Hall of Champions

Ghost - 2006
Flippenburghers – 2007
NeClams - 2009
Falconfan - 2010

For those of you new to the game, here is the concept. Year in and year out my buddies and I would plan on getting a Pizza and watching Monday Night Football, of course (outside of Steeler Games) - many of these games were real yawners. I figured anybody with common NFL sense should be able to schedule better games than what I was watching and so - Monday Night Football Executive was created, to test my theory that NFL fans could pick the closest, or most interesting games week in and week out.

I realize that NBC and ESPN have a few other things to consider when choosing their games, but in reality people across the country either want to watch their team or the best game of the week, so no excuses. If that weren't the reality NBC wouldn't need Flex scheduling.

What's at stake you ask - Bragging rights and an entry into the Hall of Champions - it's yours uncontested.

However to play for bragging rights your schedule needs to be emailed to me or added to this thread no later than

Thursday Sept 9th by 8:00 pm EST.

If a player joins after the deadline - they will be ineligible to enter the Hall of Champions even if they win.

Just post your schedule in this thread or PM me your schedule - all schedules will be on display once the season begins - to make sure the game is fair.

How to Play:

Pick 1 game per week, for the 17 week NFL Season. There are no restrictions on how often or how rarely you use a team – so just try and select the best games. In general the better the two teams are (record wise), and the closer and more exciting the game is (i.e. nailbiter) the more points you'll score. It's that simple....and that difficult. Also you do not have to pick who will win each game – just pick the game of the week and rack up the points. Keep in mind however, once the first kickoff in the first regular season game begins you cannot change (or flex) your schedule – so pick wisely.

Below is a link to the full 17 week NFL schedule.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/schedule

Below is the Scoring table that will be used -

Every Game

35 points - If the game is decided by less than 3 points
25 points - If the game is decided by 3 points.
15 points - If the game is decided by 7 points or less.

(*If the score is 36-33 you only receive 25 points, not the 25 and the 15)

20 points - A game winning FG is attempted with less than 30 seconds left in the game
25 points - A game winning FG from 45 yards or beyond and the kicking team makes it with 30 seconds or less left in the game.
35 points - If a team wins the game with a TD, with 1 minute (or less) in Regulation.
15 points - For all overtime games
35 points - If a team, previously down by 17 points or more at any point in the game, wins.

5 points - If any one player scores 3 TD's in the game.
10 points - If any one player scores 4 TD's in the game.
15 points - If any one player scores 5 TD's in the game.

5 points – for any Kick Return TD’s or Punt Return TD’s
15 points – if a player scores two Kick Return TD’s / Punt Return TD’s / or one of each.

15 points - If any defensive player gets 2 Int's, 2 Forced Fumbles, or 1 of each – 5 points are added for every additional Int or Forced Fumble a player makes – however we will only use one player per team (the highest scoring) for each game.

For example if James Harrison has two forced fumbles and Troy Polamalu has three Int’s – we award Pittsburgh with only 20 points (for Troy’s 3 Int’s – instead of the original 35 like we used too). Ideally this will prevent scores from inflating when a horrible offense is just giving away the ball in a bad game – but still reward outstanding defensive play.

From Week 5 and Beyond

10 points - if both teams have a record that is .500 or above.
15 points - if both teams have a record that is .500 or above in the same division
25 points - if both teams have a record that is .600 or above
30 points - if both teams have a record that is .600 or above in the same division.

Playoff Points

3 points - For every team you include in your schedule that goes to the playoffs
9 points - For every week your schedule involved two teams that eventually go to the playoffs.

Week 17 Rule

35 points / 70 points - In Week 17 if you guess the game that involves a team that only needs to win that game (and receive no other help from another team during that week) you receive 35 points. If that game involves two teams that only need to win to get a playoff spot the score is doubled. There can be no other factors involved to receive the points for this game, i.e. a team cannot need another team to lose that week to make it in.

Rookie Watch – (and Mike Wallace Watch)

25 points - If you choose the first game that Tim Tebow (Broncos) scores any TD (passing/rushing/receiving or returning)

25 points - If you choose the first game that Dez Bryant (Cowboys) scores a TD.
25 points - If you choose the first game C.J. Spiller (Bills) scores any TD
25 points – If you choose the first game that Mike Wallace (Steelers) has over 100 yards receiving.

Special Bonus!!!!

*** 20 points if you pick the first game the St. Louis Rams win this season – 15 additional points if Sam Bradford is the starting Quarterback.

Week 4 – I’m giving an additional 10 points to the Redskins @ Eagles game provided Donavan McNabb starts the game. So it’s probably an easy extra 10 points. The reason being I’m guessing it will be a game of National interest.

As you can see there have been some minor changes and alterations made. We’ve had some really great crews in the past few seasons and I'm looking forward to seeing who is this season's MNF Executive. If you have any questions please post them and I will do my best to address them. Soon I will post the ESPN and NBC schedules for MNF Exec.

Odds and ends - rules in case of emergency.

If there is a tie at the end of the regular season between two or more players - the playoff points are extended until it breaks the tie. In other words - playoff points will be counted, again, for the Second Round, Championship Game, and Super Bowl if necessary or until the tie is broken.

ESPN and NBC will be awarded the best of their first two games (on Thursday Night) towards a Week 5 and beyond scoring. The reason for this is that they are short 1 game on their schedule towards this scoring system.

If you make a mistake on your schedule and it isn't realized until the week of the game - I will take the first team you write in - (i.e. if it's Seattle vs. Arizona, and it was supposed to be St. Louis vs Arizona - you're stuck with the Seattle game whomever they're playing - unless it's a bye week, and then you just got lucky).

Scores will be posted every Tuesday along with commentary.

Best Single Week High Score:

The CHAMP IS BACK!

LonBull....looking for another GREAT season...but I won't go back-to-back!

I do have one concern in the rules though.....

WEEK 17.

It says 35 / 70 points. I read that is 35 for 1 team that needs to win to get in...and 70 if the game in week 17 includes 2 teams.....got it! HOWEVER....in the write-up, it says 55 points...and doubled if the game has both teams needing a win to get it. I know it was 55/110 last year, so I assume you lowered it to 35/70....but you may want to clarify that before week 17!

If believe in patterns, this should be the year of Flippy again. From 2nd to 1st to 2nd to....

1st?

But I prefer some change. And I'm going to buck the trend a little.

I've always thought the Steelers should be on every Monday night game and that would be the perfect schedule. No need to watch anyone else. Just the black and gold for me. And the Steelers always get great ratings. So I'm going with a straight Steeler ticket.

Every Steeler game. Every week.

And during their bye week, I'm not showing any football on my network. I'm gonna run a Karate Kid marathon that night.

Weeks 1-17 Steelers vs ?

It's the best schedule by a mile. And if it doesn't win, LonBull's scoring is flipped up :wink

C'mon slacker LB.

You stated everyone's picks would be posted prior to the season starting.......

The season is finally underway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet, we have no picks posted.

Also, in my speech I stated we should have the "NEClams in the Goose-Egg Lounge" bonus in that every picks a week and whoever picks the FIRST week I am in there would win a bonus...kinda like our rookie's bonuses, etc.

There weren't any significant injuries - so if you can get me the schedule before kickoff on Sunday - I think it's fair that you can fully participate.

Arizona vs St Louis......45 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to the smart people this week that picked the game with me.....MeetJoeGreene, StarLifter, IronShiek, Papillion, Jigawatts. Great picks fellas. I would say something about GHOST and his 15 points, but he is a "second half of the season" team!

Of course, this despends on the results of tonight's 2 games!

I agree.....but I picked the Rams next week against Oakland also....I was hoping they could win one of the first 2 games of the season.....after that, I do not think it is feasible until week 5....and I didn't want to pick them 3 times....so I rolled the dice hoping for a week 1 or 2 win! We shall see how it pans out.......

Each and every fall I am surprised by how differently our players forsee the upcoming season. As Monday Night Football Executive enters it's fifth season and I scan everyone's scheduled picks - this may be the most wide open season I've ever seen. In the first opening weeks players have used more of the entire schedule (meaning more teams) than I can ever remember.

Week 1 featured 11 different games (please remember to thank Ghost for helping me score all of these games) spanning from potential conference playoff match-up of Colts vs Texans, slugfest Baltimore v Jets, and two seemingly pathetic match-ups of perennial losers Browns v Tampa and Cardinals v Rams.....ah but MNF Exec. is a strange brew, and as it turns it out - the perennial losers on the field turned in the best scores of Week One.

ESPN needed two games to take the top of the board with a total of 55 points, and fortunately no one visited the Goose Egg lounge this week.

All of the Bonus Points are still available - and looking ahead (speaking of perennial losers in this game) last place Lonbull and reigning champ Neclams are hoping Week 2 is the first week o'victory for Bradford and the boys in St. Louis!

I have to imagine several of us who placed any hopes on the 49ers in the future are concerned about the blowout they suffered from the Seahawks! Three players including current leader ESPN - are featuring the 49ers versus the Super Bowl Champion Saints, could get real ugly!

Here's a peek at Week 2 - Your Leader is in Red

I think that I still got 30 for Minn vs. Mia since someone from Mia had 2 interceptions.

Why couldn't they have just gone for the FG.. then it would have been a 1 point game.

It was an eventful Week 2 in MNF Exec. - Falconfan shared the weekly high score with Chadman and moved into a top o' board tie with ESPN - which is impressive considering that the suits at both ESPN and NBC carry a one game lead over the rest of the board. This Dirty Bird looks like he's ready to fly.

While Chadman doesn't have the overall points of the two leaders - I'm sure he's enjoying the new found silence from the once talkitive smacketeers.

In other news - Ghost was the only MNF Exec. to enjoy the Dez Bryant Rookie Points that came with an additional 5 points because Dez's first TD was off a punt return - seems like every year Ghost picks up these bits and pieces and always leaves the bottom dwellers wondering - how'd he do that - this year looks like no exception.

2009 champion NeClams has moved into an early stalking position - and Iron Shiek is also poised to take over at the top spot.

Meanwhile Steelgal - in her first attempt at MNF Executive - opened up the Goose Egg Lounge this weekend, in what I was told was a wild girls night out.....however fear not Steelgal, many of us have been to the Goose Egg Lounge before - and you'll find that this game can turn on a dime especially in the early going - that and you're still tied or leading 7 other players, I for one am confident that you will come back...with a fury!

Looking ahead the two leaders share the same game this weekend - and the bulk of the Execs have picked the Dallas v Houston game.....the way Dallas is playing there could be a Goose Egg Lounge Convention this weekend - let's hope not!!!

Here's Week 3 - Your Leaders are in Red

Week 3 may rank as one of the most disappointing weeks that this writer can remember! Not only was the C.J. Spiller Rookie Bonus unclaimed, the St. Louis Rams (under the guidance of Sam Bradford) put up their first victory this week leaving a combined 60 points forever elapsed.

Of course the most disappointing factor of all is that it was standing room only in the Goose Egg Lounge this weekend as 11 Executives (including yours truly) decided to pass on making any points this weekend.....dear lord people even Tampa Bay found a way of scoring 6 points against the Steelers defense this week!

On the other side of the coin Steelgal rebounded sharply from a disappointing week last week as she (along with Jigawatts) posted the weekly high score of 55 points.

The much maligned Chavezz lept from last place as he and Flippinbot flew up the charts with Mike Wallace like speed and the Wallace bonus this weekend.

Incidentally that leaves us with only the Donovan McNabb (this weekend) and Tim Tebow as possible "special" player bonuses this season.

Looking ahead the top three ESPN, Falconfan and Iron Shiek have seperate games this weekend - so there could be some very interesting movement at the top of the board.

Chadman may have said it best when he implied that the early days of MNF Exec. can be overcome by a strong late push....or a stalwart beginning can be undone with a few poor choices, veterns of the game have seen their share of both - however all eyes are on Falconfan and Iron Shiek as they have almost twice as many points as half the players on the board.

Does the field goal at the end of Falcons/Saints not count for any points?

It was to send the game into overtime.. so technically it was a game "tying" field goal, but if they had missed the other team would have won.

If not, I think that should be amended next year - the game winning FG or TDs at the end of a game should be game winning or game tying.. Either that or more of a bump in score for overtime games.

Technically speaking, a winning FG in OT should get the point bump as well since that was in the last minute of the game.. :>)

Ok since it's posted it's official.

Here was my concern for the Wallace bonus. It states that the bonus was given for going over 100 yards. Wallace had 100 yards even. I know the spirit of the bonus is getting 100 but the argument could be made that to get the bonus he would have to have 101 yards.

NO CHANGES!!!!

If not, I think that should be amended next year - the game winning FG or TDs at the end of a game should be game winning or game tying.. Either that or more of a bump in score for overtime games.

There's only a 5 (at most 10) point difference between ending the game with a winning FG or sending it into overtime. Think of it as anything that ties the game gives you the 15 points for OT.

Technically speaking, a winning FG in OT should get the point bump as well since that was in the last minute of the game.. :>)

This is probably a bad week to take up your case for this because how bad do you think I feel for your 45 point score while I'm hungover in the Goose Egg Lounge??

All kidding aside - I don't think overtime games are as exciting or more exciting then a game changing moment in the last minute or last few seconds of regulation (IMO) - therefore I can't really bump OT without bumping everything else as well....which kind of defeats the purpose.

After further review the spirit of the rule is that Mike Wallaced needed 100 yards or more to complete the bonus - the ruling on the field stands!

Just a thought on scoring.

Could we look at giving some points for a game won by 8 points since it's now possible to score a TD and have a 2pt conversion? An 8 point game can also come down to the wire at the end.

It's like this game was designed in 1970 and never updated for the 2 pt conversion :wink

Flip - I've considered it, however I decided that instead of rewarding an 8 point game at all - I would instead give the larger bonus to teams only losing by 1 or 2 points. So if a team is down by 8, they score a TD but miss the conversion - they're covered, because this game gets the best points possible in this category (35).

Consider that if a team is down by 7 and they're gutsy enough to score a last minute TD and then go for two - they receive 35 points for winning or losing by 1 point - but they would receive another 35 points for scoring a last minute TD (and conversion) to WIN the game.

So I do believe the 2 point conversion is covered in the best of ways - but if a team is down by 8 they can get the TD first and then we'll talk.

It's like this game was designed in 1970 and never updated for the 2 pt conversion :wink

Of course if you have any problems with how football was played in the 1970's I can send a representative over to further discuss this with you - I believe Mr. Lambert is available to help you.

At the end of Week 4 we have a new leader, as Iron Shiek enjoyed a 60 point Raven v Steelers game :HeadBanger that allowed him to be the only current member of the 200 club.

Ruthlessburgher and WVSteeler made large strides with the weekly high score of 70 points and I'm sure both are hoping to continue their hot streak in Week 5.

Steelgal should certainly feel good about her score --- this is her first go around with MNF Exec and she finds herself currently tied with Former Champ Ghost who always finds a way to contend in this game! Give'em he!! Steelgal :tt2

The Goose Egg lounge continues to turn a profit as four unfortunate players spent Sunday night wondering why the Rams couldn't have lost the week before. Which of course brings us to Week 5 where four different players have taken the Rams v Lions game - I assume everyone took last week's game and this week's game because they were hoping for the extra bonus points however.....could the Rams be the proverbial Maitre D of the Le bar d'oeuf d'oie (you know what lounge this is in French!)

For those relatively new to the game - Week 5 is when we start adding bonuses to team records.....and as I look at this week - I just see a potential meltdown!

Only 6 Execs have a sure thing this week - and the rest of us are just going to have to hope the games are good....or it's going to be Marti Gras week down at the lounge!

Here's Week 5 - Your Leader is in Red

Good Luck!

Wow, its kinda lonely up here in the 200 club.

While I got the big 60 points for that Steelers game, I really anticipated the Steelers actually winning the game and having 3 defensive tds. What's done is done, so I will sadly take the points I earned on it.

As for next week, I'm really not sure what possessed me to pick this game (SD at OAK). So my reign at the top might be very short lived. Good luck to all!

At least one of my matchup-ups worked out for me this week. My opponent in fantasy football had the Pats defense on Monday so my 40 point lead wasn't what I thought it was. Ended up losing by four points, but still could have won if Wallace had hauled in that end zone pass.

Iron Shiek obviously felt charitable this week as he decided to stall at the top and take a detour to the Goose Egg Lounge while giving the rest of us an opportunity to make up a little ground....regardless the Shiek still remains on top of the board and the only current member of the 200 club.

Dsmith and Starlifter gathered up Week 5's highest score by tacking on 85 points apiece with their Packers v Redskins overtime selection. Both men have certainly positioned themselves as early contenders.

However neither Dsmith or Starlifter were able to pick a game with a schedule bonus in thier upcoming Week 6 picks - and while the Iron Shiek went pointless in Week 5, he's got a guarenteed 25 points at this week's kickoff.

Falconfan continues to close on the leader and will enjoy a 30 point schedule bonus himself - it's turning out to be a real duel at the top.

Looking ahead 10 Execs. (including last year's champion NeClams) will be hoping that the Dallas v Vikings game provides a ton of excitement as they will feature two teams that came into the season with a lot of promise but enter this competition with two losing records.

After getting shut out last weekend the Iron Shiek stuck back enjoying the weekly high score of 65 points along with 10 other Execs, including the new arrival to second place Jigawatts!

However not far behind Jigawatts is a four way tie including former champion, and the always dangerous Ghost.

Moving in the completely opposite direction was Chadman who slipped from fourth place to 11th this week - as his (highly enjoyable) Steelers v Browns game only produced 5 points.

However a number of us could be heading in the wrong direction, because only 4 Execs. have guarenteed points this upcoming weekend.

With a 40 point cushion Iron Shiek will more than likely enjoy his #1 ranking at the end of next weekend - however second place Jigawatts (and third place Ghost & Ruthless) will be looking to pick up ground on the leader and in doing so past up their rivals DSmith and Falconfan - the top of the board looks like king of mountain this weekend!

Amazingly, I continue to put up big points. Last year I dramatically bombed out of the competition early thanks to the Titans slow start and other dumb picks. So far this year, I've been on top of things save for last week. This week's pick was something I envisioned as being a very close but high scoring contest between two teams with soft defenses. I was basically looking for some bonuses. However things have dramatically turned. Moss is gone. Gates and Floyd are hurt, Vincent Jackson still hasn't reported. Hopefully we still have a close game on our hands, but not as high scoring as I had imagined.

(You like how I am setting myself up for an excuse if I end up "the Lounge"?)

Three Execs enjoyed the weekly high score of 75 points with two seperate games. Flippinbot (resistance is futile) and Big Pappi (Papillion) enjoyed a Steelers victory a little more than most in this game - while Crouching Tiger / Angry Asian sprung out like a wily lone ninja with his Washington v. Chicago triumph.

However Angry Asian could be in trouble this week as he heads out to London with DSmith and Ghost - for what could end up a trip to the Goose Egg Pub with their Broncos v. 49ers game???

Meanwhile Starlifter and the suits at ESPN leap frogged several of last weeks second and third place holders with a strange, little something for everyone, 50 point Giants victory over the Cowboys

If Dallas would have recovered their on-side kick and managed to score another TD (to say Dez Bryant) to win the game, the score would have been worth 145 points  which would be a tie for the highest one week score in MNF Exec. - wow.

Speaking of "wow" Iron Shiek once again sits atop of the board and is currently the only member of the 300 club - however at kickoff on Monday Night ESPN and Jigawatts are guarenteed 30 points and the chance to make up a lot of ground on the Iron Leader!

As we review the upcoming week we also see that last year's champion NeClams will be looking to break from the pack as he's the only Exec to pick the Titans v. Chargers - we'll see if he can make a move and get into contention.

Here's Week 8 - Your Leader is in Red

Hey Lon, still working on trying to understand the scoring and my pick yesterday brings up some interesting questions. Is there any difference in kicking a last second FG during regulation or OT? Is it still the same but 15 points for the extra period? What if the game actually ended in a tie? This is a great game you devised but man, trying to figure out these scores every week makes my head explode!!

You just have to appreciate when a gamble pays off - Starlifter enjoys not only the week's highest score of 60 points all to himself - his head scratcher of a choice Bills v. Chiefs also propels him to the top of the leaderboad - that's right folks we've got a new #1 !!!

For many Execs this was a very disappointing week - Six Execs visited the Goose Egg Pub this weekend - however an additional 14 Execs only received their Record Bonus and no additional "in game" points - in short there really wasn't much movement on the board in week 8.

Looking ahead while Starlifter enjoys his view from the top - Iron Shiek continues to plug away - and at kickoff this Sunday he'll be one of only 5 Execs promised any points at all. It could be another very lean weekend....

In my opinion it seems like the AFC West and almost all of the NFC has had such an unforseen and unpredicatable first 8 weeks - that many Execs just have to hope to squeak out a few points until they "hopefully" placed a Steelers / Ravens game, AFC South or an AFC East Game on their schedule. Outside of those three choices you really can find yourself in a no man's land.

Hey Lon, still working on trying to understand the scoring and my pick yesterday brings up some interesting questions. Is there any difference in kicking a last second FG during regulation or OT? Is it still the same but 15 points for the extra period?

Starlifter - At this time the last 30 seconds of OT are being considered the same as the last 30 seconds of the 4th Quarter....so 20 points were added to the Bills v K.C. Game, also 15 points for an OT Game, and finally 25 points because it was a 3 point game (total 60 points).

What if the game actually ended in a tie?

It would be treated the same as any game that ends 2 points or less. This is where "personal" choice comes into play. I personally don't like investing time into a game where there are 5 quarters and no winner.....however I'm not going to give an Exec less points because of a tie. I always wanted MNF Exec. to be about rewarding players who give me the most "exciting" games....which usually are the closest games points-wise. The idea wasn't necessarily to reward the games that were "just" the closest points-wise....if that makes any sense.

This is a great game you devised but man, trying to figure out these scores every week makes my head explode!!

This is why I thank Ghost so many times during the year - and when we finally meet up I'm going to have to buy him a truckload of beer!

It's easier to count these scores up when you get into the flow of it - and really "know" what to look for....however Ghost and I usually catch errors - he catches more of mine than I do of his. Ghost is definitely "da man".

Also this game is still being adjusted - there are certainly odd things that come up in the NFL that I would love to "cover" but so often we don't know about them until mid-season. I mean I would have given points for Moss playing against the Patriots....and even more points if he were to eventually play against the Vikings this year....how crazy would that be????

Anyway always feel free to ask questions - I certainly may have missed something - or at the very least need to reconsider something.

Moss should definitely sign with the Bears. If so, he would get to play against the Vikings twice (11/14/10 and 12/20/10) and also against the Patriots again (12/12/10). Talk about goofy. In one season, he could potentially play for the Patriots 4 times against them twice, and play for the Vikes 4 times and against them twice. Just sick.

LMAO. tragically, I think not. Otherwise I would NEVER have selected Dallas/GB as my game this week.

I'll be the first to admit that when I'm watching all of the games unfold if I spot a game that looks like it could rack up major points - I usually cheer for the game to have the best MNF Exec. score possible....even if I didn't "play" that game that week.

Problem was that the game that offered up the opportunity to rack up a ton of points was my game...and that was the Steelers v Bengals 4th quarter comeback from down more than 17. If Palmer would have thrown a TD to Terrell Owens in the closing minutes on Monday Night Football - I calculate that it would have added up to about 120 points.....however I think most of us would have been too sick to care!!

As it turns out the Steelers v Bengals game only (thankfully) turned out 30 points - while Iron Shiek regained a commanding lead as he, Chadman, Jooser, Stlrz D, and Papillion earned the weekly high score of 60 points with two seperate games (Colts v Eagles, and Kansas City v Oakland).

With this latest week in the books - Starlifter falls back into second place, while Big Pappi enters the top four - and "Middle of the Pack" Jooser moves into the 300 club and within striking distance. Things at the top are getting interesting.

Unfortunately for Iron Shiek, Big Pappi, Chadman, last year's champion Neclams and four other Execs - they've picked this season's "Schedule Killers" the Dallas Cowboys - so they're one of only two games not picking up a record bonus this week.

Looking ahead - Starlifter, Jooser, Jigawatts and the bulk of the MNF Execs will be enjoying a 25 point bonus at kickoff and everyone will be looking to make up some ground on the current leader.

DSmith and Falconfan are currently tied at 280 and I'm sure both hope for a surprise on Thursday Night Football to put them in a more dangerous position.

And finally take a look at the always dangerous Ghost who will be taking less points at kickoff - however he's got the Titans v Miami game all to himself - and he's been lucky and/or skilled when it counted most in the past - make sure to keep an eye on this game.

Here's Week 10 - Your Leader is in Red

Maybe you were listening to all the hype before the season started since the Bengals were gonna win the division again after the T.O. addition and how the almighty Colts are ALWAYS invincible, lol!!! No one, outside of Pittsburgh, expected us to be 6 - 2 halfway through the season.

Ladies and Gentlemen the SUITS have landed!!! This game was originally designed to show that WE the blue collar fans of the NFL have a better idea of what kind of games are meaninful and enjoyable than the "never worked a day in their life" SUITS of ESPN and NBC......and now.....now ESPN (if they had a voice) would probably be staring at all of us with a - :owned or a :moon

This years game just became very personal to me....and should to most of you - unless you're a bunch of candy a$$es.....you heard me.....I borrowed that from the movie Miracle - it was a great scene....and mostly that's where all of this needed to go.....

Anyway back to MNF Exec. - the Monday Night Suits are living up to their name having not only taken the top spot from Iron Shiek, but they're also the only player to pick San Diego v Denver....so they could enjoy a big game all to themselves....then again - they could meltdown.

Speaking of a possible melt down - Iron Shiek who has enjoyed the lead for the better part of this season, now finds himself in third place and without any bonus points going into week 11.

Two players on the rise are Falconfan and DSmith who both enjoyed the weekly high score of 85 points in the (very sweet) Baltimore v Atlanta game. Both players find themselves close to the top - however only Falconfan has guarenteed points coming in Week 11.

Sixth place Jigawatts will be making the largest bonus leap (along with Chadman and NBC) with a 30 point Giants v Eagles NFC East Battle Royal. Both the Giants and Eagles (with Vick) have been putting up a bunch of points so this could be a wild one....and it could certainly rack up a bunch of points for Jigawatts....could we be seeing a new leader for the 4th consecutive week????

Can't wait to find out.

Week 11 brought the return of Starlifter to the top of the board, however he is keeping very close company with a few new contenders.

Iron Shiek and ESPN have slipped down the slope - and in their place Dsmith, Falconfan and Jigawatts are looking to make a late grab at the crown.

Dsmith, WVSteeler, Doogie36, and Papillion enjoyed the weekly high score of 65 points brought to them with a last minute TD by Francheezmo to Santonio Holmes in the Jets victory over the hard luck Houston Texans.

Looking ahead - Papillion may seem in a distant 8th place but his game of choice this week (Eagles v Bears) comes with a juicy 25 point bonus....not only that he's the only Exec. sitting on that game.....so while you top dawgs are scanning the games this week with a leftover Turkey sandwich (Happy Thanksgiviing Execs) keep in mind that Papillion is hoping for an early Christmas gift this year!

In other news - far be it for me to talk smack in this game - because.....well I've never won, and I've never even been in the lead :owned .....but is last year's champion Neclams only 10 points away from being in the cellar???? Say it ain't so......well believe it or not I've looked (and compared) the last several weeks in the season - and it wouldn't surprise me if Neclams made a heck of run in the end.......keep in mind at this stage in the game what kind of comeback the Champ would have to make.

With a huge bonus on the line in the final week - anything can still happen, and in fact that week is the most spread out week, since weeks 1 & 2 - we'll be covering 11 different games that week (Please remember to thank Ghost!) so there could be a big surprise still in store - until then - be safe this holiday weekend, and have a great Thanksgiving!

Once again the top story in MNF Exec. is that we have a new leader at the top of the nest - and instead of a proud member of the Black n Gold Nation flying high with a bird's eye view - it's a dirty bird from Hot-lanta puffing out his chest and chirping away - to make matters worse he has the nerve to do this on Ravens Week!!!

Speaking of which - two games this upcoming week (Steelers v Ravens and Patriots v Jets) come with a 30 point bonus at kick-off Sunday and Monday Night....and neither our leader nor the counter puncher Starlifter (currently sitting in 2nd place) are "on" that game.

Sadly for Starlifter he's aligned himself again with this season's schedule killers the Dallas Cowboys.

In 4th place and exactly 30 points behind (putting him in a tie for 1st place at kickoff) is Ruthlessburgher who is hoping (I assume) for a high scoring 1 point victory for the Steelers that could put him in the drivers seat at the beginning of next week.

Seems to me like we could be in for a wild finish to this year's MNF Exec !!!

Last week Pfelix 73 enjoyed the week's high score of 75 points with a solid Packers vs. Atlanta selection. Pfelix 73 is also one of the few players on the Jets v Patriots game - and while he may not have the strongest schedule down the stretch he could definitely climb the board very quickly with these passing two weeks.

This past weekend was a banner weekend for 17 Execs all of whom enjoyed the week's high score of 55 points. However the current king of the roost, Falconfan, was able to pick up 50 points of his own (along with Papillion) in the Saints v Bengals game - enabling this black bird the ability to keep soaring.

In contrast the Iron Shiek's well of success seems to have dried up for the moment as the former front runner has fallen to the middle of the pack......the question is does he have the schedule to make one more run at the top - or is he headed to the abyss?

Starlifter continues to hang around clearly looking to steal the victory at the last minute and Ruthlessburger makes a proper jump into 3rd place.

Starlifter, Ruthlessburger and fourth place Papillion all share the same Giants v Vikings match-up and it could send all of them over the top - or hand in hand towards the bottom?

One player who received some bad news / good news this week is Dsmith after he had crafted a schedule so far that had him in 3rd place and only 20 points back......he was one of the few execs this week to only score 5 points - however the good news is that Dsmith is poised to be one of two Execs (along with only Angry Asian) guarenteed points this week - as playoff contender football is a scarcity in Week 14!

You'll want to keep an eye on DSmith - he has a few solid games still on his schedule, and he ends it with a Week 17 pick of Bears v Packers - which could definitely have playoff (win and you're in) consequences to it.....giving DSmith some large and in charge points in the final week.....and to make matters more interesting he's the only player with that game!

The irony of Week 14 is that the leader of MNF Exec. (Falconfan) will be one of the few Execs not watching his game Bengals v Steelers this weekend.

Here's Week 14 - Your Leader is in Red

Week 14 proved to be a very tough week for MNF Exec. - as 6 members found themselves in the Goose Egg lounge - and only 10 Execs ended up with a score of 25 points or higher.

However the most noticeable lack of points may have been from the #2 thru #4 players, Starlifter, Ruthlessburgher, and Papillion - who were unable to make any ground on the man from Hotlanta - Falconfan.

Looking ahead - Ruthlessburgher and Falconfan will be enjoying a 25 point bonus, however obviously Ruthlessburgher won't be making up any ground on the Bird of Prey - not only that they have the same games in Week 16 as well. Ruthlessburgher needs to keep close and hope for a Week 17 hail mary miracle!

Starlifter and Jooser will also be picking up 25 points with the Jets v Steelers game, while Papillion will be hoping for the biggest jackpot of points in the Ravens v Saints match-up!

You never know how this game will surprise you - however I think this week could definitely be a make or break weekend for the boys on top! If MNF Executive had a "playoff" time to it's schedule - I think we'd be in it right now!

Defending Champion Neclams (along with Stlrz D) surged foward with a week's high score of 140 points - which was just 5 points shy of tying a MNF Exec. record for highest score ever in a week!!

The Eagles vs Giants game provided top seated division rivals, a comeback from being down by 17 or more, a 7 point game, both Quarterbacks putting up solid numbers, and finally a Punt Return TD to win the game with 00 seconds left on the clock!!! Currently Yahoo Sports is calling it the best "regular season" game of the year....and here at MNF Exec. we agree!

Neclams is coming right back with another potential big game - with the Saints v. Falcons - however the big bird sitting on top of the roost (Falconfan) will also be adding that game to his resume - and it's very doubtful that anyone is going to make any significant ground on the leader.

The only good news I can offer to the rest of the pack is that the Eagles will most likely seal up their playoff bid this week - and Falconfan will be ineligible for the Week 17 (win and you're in) points - however as we come to the wire with these final two weeks, almost all of us need a pair of miracles to have any shot at the top.

Falconfan continued his impressive streak at the top of the boards by putting together a 55 point Saints v. Atlanta game - that was showcased as ESPN's last game of the season.

The bird of prey seems to be circling a victory and preparing to dive.....but there's still one week to go - and he's got a bitter rival who is poised to steal the crown.

From what I understand DSmith and Falconfan know and see one another (meaning in real life, not just via message board) on a regular basis - it's also my understanding that Falconfan would probably not be playing MNF Exec. if it weren't for DSmith.

As it currently stands Dsmith will earn a ground shaking 65 points at kickoff in Week 17. He along with Chavezz both have games that feature teams (Packers & Colts) that are in a "win and you're in" situation. Dsmith also has a game that features two division rivals with records at or above .600......that's why he'll only be 25 points behind Falconfan when they kickoff this weekend!!!

I wonder if words will be bantered between the two of them???

Falconfan is unfortunately ending his season with a Cowboys game - and the Cowboys have been schedule killers for most of the season - could be a heartbreaker in the making.

This week's highest score was 70 points and was earned by both Ghost and Chadman in the Texas v Broncos game.

Former Champs NeClams and Ghost have both made large late strides - but it doesn't look like they will have enough games to return to the winners circle.

thought I had a good shot this year but too much reliance on the vikings and the cowboys sealed my fate. Can't believe we let a 'dirty bird' come in here and run roughshod over us!!!......... :Bow :Bow

don't know if you'll pull it out, but well done falconfan!!

Once again, Chadman is going to finish short.....geez LB, you'd think by now you'd make the game easier for Chadman to win.....

All is not lost. I'm only 40 points behind the Dirty Bird. The Dallas-Philly game could be a stinker, and the Cincy-Baltimore game could be a classic.

Then again, if I don't win, that would give me even more reason to utilize these smileys:

The newest member of the MNF Exec. Hall of Champions, Falconfan - powered through the final week by scoring 50 points. Falconfan never found himself far from the top spot - he tied ESPN in Week 2 and throughout the season spent eight weeks as #1. Throughout the campaign he was never any further back then 8th place - and took over in Week 12 and never looked back.

Congratulations Falconfan - on a superb victory.

A number of other players certainly challenged through the year -

Iron Shiek rocked the top spot for a full month starting in Week 4.

Starlifter remained persistent when others began to fall - he enjoyed two weeks at the top spot - but his schedule faltered down the stretch.

Dsmith & Chavezz finished with this week's highest scores of 80 points - but it wasn't enough. If Ruthlessburgher would have had either of those games he would have had enough to claim the champoinship....instead the Bengals and Ravens game only mustered 5 points.

One point of interest Jooser's schedule featured the most weeks with playoff contenders. His schedule only had two weeks that didn't feature a team or teams in the playoffs - and he earned the most playoff points this season with 93.

I enjoy hosting this every year, and I appreciate having such a great crew to share this cursed game with!

I especially want to say thank you again to Ghost who week in and week out - works the numbers with me - I really do appreciate his help!

As always I look foward to the Champion Falconfan closing out MNF Exec. with a few final words.

I would like to personally congratulate the winner and also my good friends Chavezz and Chadman who both managed to outsmart me this year.

And thanks to Lonbull and Ghost for all their work in scoring and running.

It was a fun year (much more fun when you are near the top as opposed to last year!).

You all do a fantastic job running the show and congrats to the champ!

Thanks everyone. :tt2

Runner up in our fantasy league, now Runner up in MNF Exec...

I'll have my revenge in the actual Super Bowl, when my Steelers beat your Falcons (we all know that Steelers only play birds in recent Super Bowls).

Seriously, though...congrats Falconfan...you were a worthy adversary.

Thanks again, L.B. for a game well done (I'm better at this than cooking your recipes)

This is probably the most challenging 'game' designed that Chadman has come across.

Well done Falconfan for a good win. Tough luck to Ruthless for coming up short once more.

Many thanks to the legend that is LB for running this once more.

And lastly- to MJG & Chavezz- suffer in your jocks- losers. :moon

At least we now know that Chadman has not succumbed to great Australian floods the size of Texas.

Good job Falconfan and great game Lonbull, I will be looking forward to my invitation to play in next year's MNF Executive challenge.

Man, tallied 94 points in the final week and didn't even sniff moving up in the standings. Congrats to all except Chadman you deserve to be "down under" in this contest. :moon

At least, my schedule graded better than ESPN's schedule for the year, that's always rewarding.

Good luck to the Falcons until February when they play the Steelers.

Thanks to all who help LB tally the scores and to all participants for playing.

Congrats Falconfan!! Although if our teams meet in the playoffs, I might not be so nice

I'm pretty happy with my finish. This was my first year and came in 7th place. Did a lot better with this than I did in my fantasy league..........

Thanks L.B. and Ghost for all the hard work you put in every week going over the calculations!

I would like to say thanks to Lonbull for taking the time calculating the scores and putting this game together every week. It is a fun and unique fantasy game that I will look forward to defending next year, unless my Pittsburgh fan employer (Dsmith) fires me after the Falcons beat the Steelers in the Superbowl.....(my writer told me to put that in my speech). It has been a fun and exciting year and for once I am looking forward to the NFL playoffs. Good luck to all you Pittsburgh fans in the playoffs. I would love to see Brady & Sanchez hit the turf hard. Hope you all have a Happy New Year and see you next season. Thanks again everyone.

Watching the backyard flood as we speak.....

:(

Still, only very minor. Nothing like what is happening a little further North..

Kind of a bitter sweet moment for me this year. That is the best finish I have ever had in MNFE. However, having the winner at my work is annoying. I now have to address him as Mr. Monday Night.

Actually, Falcons Fan is a great guy that just happens to pull for the wrong team. Congratulations to him for this victory as well as the season that the Falcons had.

Thanks to Lonbull and company (I believe it is Ghost that helps with the calculations?) for running this thing. Looking forward to next year.

this was a fun year but tragically dallas and brett favre conspired to screw me over!!! it's a great game and I want to offer my thanks as well to LB and Ghost for hosting and figuring out all the points. Now, when's the 2011 schedule coming out? I need to start crunching numbers while thoughts of maximum scoring are still in my head..........

congrats again falcon fan! :Beer :Beer :Beer
