It's the right move. Interesting that Max was willing to defer to the vet...he's team player. But we all know that he should stay put at his LT spot. Adams is more of a road-grading RT at this point of his career. We do have a couple of behemoths as bookends this year!

Steelers begin arriving for training camp

Friday, July 30, 2010
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

LATROBE -- Max Starks, arriving at Steelers training camp early this afternoon, said he will remain at left tackle and that newly-signed Flozell Adams will compete at right tackle.

There was some question where Adams would play because the five-time Pro Bowler has played his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys at left tackle.

Adams, 35, is due in camp today after singing with the Steelers as a free agent Thursday. In addition, Trai Essex said he will remain at right guard. Essex started at right guard last season but there was speculation he might move back to right tackle after Willie Colon was lost for the season with an Achilles tendon injury.

Starks said Sean Kugler, the Steelers' new offensive line coach, told him he preferred to keep players in their previous positions rather than move them around. Starks started at right tackle in 2005 and 2006 before moving to left tackle, where he started the past two seasons.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger also arrived at training camp early this afternoon, driving a black MINI Cooper convertible with Colon in the passenger seat.

Asked how the ride was, Roethlisberger replied: "Long, in a little car with Willie Colon."

Roethlisberger, dressed in a white Nike hat, red Nike shirt, grey cargo shorts and Nike shoes, said he is happy to put the off-season behind him and concentrate on football. He then politely excused himself from the members of the media awaiting his arrival.

Not as weird as Harrison and Tomlin in the Smart Car.

What is it with these big dudes in their tiny little cars. If your gonna show up in a little car at least make it a Lotus or something worthy of a multi-millionaire!
