Clearly it is pretty serious.

He's been in since Thursday.

While I always am glad to hear of misfortune for the ravens, I hope he'll be ok.

Second-round rookie hospitalized with head injury

Posted by Mike Florio on July 25, 2010

It's been a rough weekend for rookies. On Saturday, a third-rounder was arrested. Before that, a second-rounder suffered a head injury.

We've confirmed that Ravens linebacker Sergio Kindle has been hospitalized with a head injury suffered on Thursday night. A league source tells us that Kindle initially had some swelling inside his skull, but the situation has since improved significantly.

"Members of our medical staff, including Bill Tessendorf and Dr. Andy Tucker, have spoken with doctors in Texas. We understand Sergio is stable at this time and that he is being tested and observed," Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome said in a release posted on the team's website.

The team says that Kindle supposedly fell down "two flights of stairs." There was some initial skepticism regarding the contention, but apparently no effort will be made for now to debunk Kindle's claim.

The former Texas standout has yet to sign a contract. One league source predicted that, given their track record, the Ravens likely will offer Kindle a fair deal based on his slot as the 43rd overall pick in the draft, regardless of the injury. It remains to be seen whether they do that, or whether they wait to confirm that Kindle will be OK.

Kindel must have been leaving the upstairs restroom that he and Ben Roethlisberger were "occupying". Ben must have bought him some shots. and when Kindel tried to give Ben head, Ben thought "how drunk must this guy be" and pushed him away, causing him to fall down the stairs. Look for a lifetime ban from the NFL to come shortly.

I feel bad for the kid, but exactly how in the he!! does one manage to fall down two flights of stairs??? I could see one flight of stairs...you might slip on the top step and tumble to the bottom of that flight...that's fine. But in order to then fall down the second flight of stairs, your body would somehow need to make a U-turn at the end of the first flight of stairs. :?

maybe he was like afro ninja. he fell down one flight of stairs and thought that he could "save it" and got up and was so woozy he fell down again. where is someone with a video camera when you need it? that would have blown up YouTube.

Yeah, I don't buy it. Someone had to make that part up just to cover up how bad he hurt himself or something.

Anyway, I hope the guy is okay as well. Get back to the field soon...

or- it could be one of those double twist stairwells ...

and he fell over the railing- down two flights of stairs...

you know... like crappy college apartment stairwells.

concrete.

that is the kind of fall that would leave you in the hospital for a while.

the seem jinxed right about now. Hope the kid will be alright though.

He's a big dude, he could have fallen down one flight of stairs and had enough momentum to kind of roll down the other flight once he hit the landing.

That should get him some kind of suspension from Judge Goodell. At 250lbs+ he could have fallen on someonea nd hurt them. At a minimum if he was drunk he will have tarnished "the shield." I think a 4 game suspension will the possibility of reducing to two games is about right.

Ooooops!!!! My bad. I just looked up Kindle and he isn't a white, QB. He gets a pass along with Vince Young and Cedric Benson. Violence (even to yourself) is OK, but he fortunately wasn't having sex when he fell

Sergio Kindle has a fractured skull

Posted by Mike Florio on July 26, 2010

Earlier this afternoon, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Ravens rookie linebacker Sergio Kindle won't be in Baltimore for at least three weeks. Regardless of when he shows up, he won't be participating in training camp.

Multiple media members are reporting via Twitter that coach John Harbaugh has ruled Kindle out of training camp. Harbaugh said that Kindle's specific head injury that resulted in his hospitalization was a fractured skull.

Harbaugh says that Kindle was staying at a friend's house, that Kindle woke up in the middle of the night, took a wrong turn in the dark, and fell down the steps.

Harbaugh has not ruled out Kindle for the season opener, but Harbaugh said that Kindle will have a lot of catching up to do.
