sounds like we are considering drafting a "non-elite" QB though, anybody have some good mid to late round sleeper picks?

Steelers say they won't draft an elite quarterback

Posted by Mike Florio on March 22, 2010

According to Scott Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, director of football operations Kevin Colbert said Sunday that the Steelers have ruled out drafting a quarterback in the early rounds.

"The position appears to be set," Colbert said, per Brown.

For now, Dennis Dixon is the backup to Roethlisberger, with the team reportedly interested in re-signing Charlie Batch. Byron Leftwich, the No. 2 man on the depth chart in 2008, also could be returning, if he's cut by the Buccaneers.

Then again, why should we believe anything Colbert says on the matter? This is the time of year when everyone is full of something other than chocolate. If the Steelers plan to take a quarterback in the early rounds, the last thing we'd expect Colbert to do is admit it.

Can we read anything into this regarding if the Steelers know anything more about the status of the accusations against Ben.

I hope so.

That was my hope after reading that as well. I do believe they will draft some insurance in rounds 5-7. Might not be a bad year to use one of those extra 5ths. With Dixon playing reasonably well he should be our solid #2. Drafting another guy to develop sounds like a good idea to me.

I think all they really know is that this thing will probabaly be impossible to prove either way and it therefore is risky. It is unlikely that anything will happen this year because this will be able to be delayed forever with motions. Phillyesq: Any insights from a professional point of view.

I think they know they will have Big "Dumb" Ben this dseason but they have some difficult decisions to make in the future. What do you wanna bet that the Rooney's will be trying to influence the new CBA with regards to personal conduct and terminating contracts without penalty?

She looks good in any color. :Boobs

But, of course, we all know that the pious Tebow never touched her, or even looked at her in an impure manner.

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

One time, a few years back, I broke my jaw and had my mouth wired shut. For three months i could only consume foods from a blender or drink milk...so i drank a lot of milk. Then i slugged some milk that was expired and yes...threw up in my mouth. Since my jaw was wired shut, my only option was to reswallow to sour milk vomit. I hope it never really happens to you...

If Ben really is arrested and ultimately suspended. That could certainly change the game.

Dude...they gave me wire cutters when I broke mine...and instructions: if you feel like you're gonna puke START CUTTING!

For 6 weeks while I was in college I remained totally sober because I was so afraid of how much it would hurt to cut those wires, puke and have to get wired up again.

Not to mention you can die if you throw up in a mouth that is wired shut. Aspiration pneumonia from vomit=bad. For whatever reason the delicate lung tissues don't like acid. :)

Yeah very nice. But, something that might make yall feel better after seeing that is there is a high probability she will be a big girl after a couple kids...lol.

I had an OB/GYN tell me once...check out a girls arms before you marry her. If she is small but has big arms...run. I have never read that in a text book...but after observing for a number of years I think his theory holds water. :)

If Fordham's John Skelton does not get taken by a QB needy team on day two of the draft, I would be interested in him on day three.

unfortunately, there are a lot of QB needy teams in the NFL...

John Skelton, QB, Fordham (6-6, 243)

Physically, John Skelton has it all: He’s a tall, well-built prospect with a cannon for an arm and the ability to make any throw with ease at the next level. Plus, he’s a better athlete than given credit for and displays the coordination to maintain his balance when asked to make throws outside the pocket. However, the big question surrounding his game is his work ethic and willingness to put in the time to be great. Here’s my take on that: At Fordham, Skelton was so talented compared to everyone else that he didn’t need to put in the work to be successful; he was simply able to get by on his physical skill set. Does that mean he has a bad work ethic? No, it just means he was never asked to work particularly hard. He does need some time and development in order to ready himself for the next level – like any college quarterback -- however, after Jimmy Clausen and Sam Bradford come off the board, I wouldn’t have any problem selecting Skelton as the draft’s third quarterback prospect.
