Because if it comes out that there was indeed sexual assault in this latest situation,
I would expect the Rooneys to ax Mr. Roethlisberger immediately.

If Ben has any close friends, they oughta be sewing his pekkker in his pants for him.

I don't want to speculate at this point as to whether or not the said allegations are true. However,...i disagree that if they were true the Rooney's would release him were he to avoid Jail time. He's too valuable to the portion of Steeler Nation's fanbase that resides in the appalachia/western PA/western VA/ Ohio/ rust belt portions of the country.

Dennis Dixon better be ready because with our OL and the fact that Ben likes to hang onto the ball too long at times makes Ben very susceptible to injury.

just like hanging out at bars at 2am and following 20-year old girls into the women's bathroom makes Big Ben and Little Ben very susceptible to lawsuits.

They wouldn't cut him because of his value to people in the rust belt? What are you talking about? If he is really running around assaulting women, he'll be done. Now if this is another he said/she said thing with a women that could likely be a nut job, he'll stay.

I feel where you are coming from Blood, as in my mind anyone whom would violate a woman or child are THE worst, weak degenerates in this existence. (And that's on everything)

However,... i feel as though unless it is proven in a court of law,...the powers that be in terms of ownership would not release him, (Roethlisberger).....because ultimately they are business men more so than anything else. And barring public outcry from Ben's most "devout" fans (the aforementioned),.....it would be "bad business" to cut ties.

Now,...let me be clear,...Dan Rooney is a man after the character and honor of his Father. But in reality it is Art II that's calling the shots now for all intents and purposes with Mr Rooney's (Dan) duty overseas. And not to say that he's (Art II) corrupt per se,.....but let's just say he's not quite as fundamentally sound in terms of traditional values.

I guess only Appalachian hicks were interested in a QB capable of leading this team to multiple Super Bowl titles this past decade. Just like only Cajun hicks were interested in a QB capable of leading this team to multiple Super Bowl titles several decades ago. You obviously get excited about Trojans...hop in a boat in Pittsburgh...float downstream until you get to the next NFL city...there is a QB there you can get excited about...don't count on him winning any Super Bowl titles any time soon, though.

Stop it Ruthless,....i am not a bigot in any sense cultural or otherwise,...it is not only impossible by definition of my ethnic background,.. but more importantly by the nature of my faith.

Yeah,..i'll voice my opinion in the name of perspective and or of truth as i see it in terms of the number of SOME individuals,....but i am no fool.

Let me be clear...

I'm not pronouncing Ben guilty by any means.

He may well be completely absolved in this situation. I hope so.

But...if it comes out that he IS guilty...

HE OUGHT TO BE RELEASED.

This team is NOT the friggin' Bungles or the Ratbirds. Sexual assault is SERIOUS
BUSINESS. Doesn't matter that he's a franchise quarterback, and one of the very best in the game--If Ben is found to be guilty of this crime, he OUGHT to be RELEASED. Yes, I would expect the Steelers to do so.

And since that is in the realm of possibility, then Mr. Dixon had better be ready.

Ben is guilty of poor judgement, he obviously allows the lower head to do his thinking for him sometimes as he is still young. mix in some alcohol and he follows women into the ladies' room because he thinks he's gonna get lucky.

they say youth is wasted on the young. at some point Ben will need to learn not to put himself into certain situations and to let the upper head do the thinking. Unfortunately, that's not an easy concept to grasp when you're still young.

If he sexually assaulted this girl, it is more than just a stage that needs to be grown out of, it's a crime that needs to be punished. Being young and being inebriated will not excuse him in the eyes of the law (nor should it be so).

yes, sexual assault is absolutely without a doubt unacceptable.

but please remember the key word here is "IF"...let's all just wait and see, we can all pass judgement later once the facts of the case come out.

It's all conjecture at this point, but I won't rush to judgment aside from the fact that Ben needs to listen to the image consultants & stop putting himself into these predicaments. I know he's only trying to live a "normal" life, but unfortunately for him he doesn't have that luxury. Hopefully for all involved it's dismissed quickly & Ben can go about repairing his name & reputation.

As for Dixon, he obviously has the team's confidence as the number 2 QB & might even be seen as a legitimate starter, but I would reason that picking up Byron Leftwich to potentially start would be a reasonable course of action, given his familiarity with the offense & personnel.

You shouldn't make assumptions. This is how the accused end up guilty in the eyes of the public.

How do you know he went in the bathroom? Because the accuser says so?

Well I say he wasn't even there...he was here in WI doing some ice fishing on the bay with me and a bunch of other Steelers fans living in Green Bay.

So there.... ;)

clearly, we dont know what happened- so at this point it is all nothing but conjecture.

But, I would imagine that if charges are filed, Ben will be suspended by the team.

on the positive-

Dennis Dixon has all the physical skills to be a legitimate starter in the nfl.

He also has the maturity and "intangibles" to succeed.

The ultimate question is, can he learn to read nfl defensive schemes, and process the information quickly enough to make intelligent decisions???

Another positive- he has 6 months to prepare.

Here is to hoping he is up to the task-

:Cheers

We will definitely pass less with Dixon and may draft RB or OL much earlier if we think Ben gets the Goodell business.

There are grades of sexual assault; the question is, if he actually broke a law. Because I'm pretty convinced that he (and the fellow duma$ses who were rolling with him, Colon...) were at fault at a certain level here.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Ben grabbed the ho, bent her over, and _____ her. What I'm saying is, it seems like they created a brothel-like atmosphere (drunk, quartering off the room from "other men", and presumably escorted young women in in shifts). It's a terribly compromised situation.

It goes to show how much we (regular people) don't understand these guys minds. Because honestly, why would he even do that, when he could go home with any hot young girl he wanted, every day of the year if he wanted.

I hope it means I get my wish.

I've been wanting a QB just becuase Ben is always hurt, Batch is always hurt and Dixon didn't look very good.

I was hoping for someone in the 3rd or 4th... Pike... Tebow.... ???

For whatever goofy reason, I'm a huge DD fan. I really hope he gets a legitimate shot, even if it is at Ben's expense.

But I will concede, he had some shaky moments in Baltimore.- but that is to be expected in his very first start. Prime time, on the road, against the Steelers biggest rival- and a very loud crowd.

Also, you mentioned the dreaded "T" word up there....

Steelers converting to WingT for 2010.
