Personally, I take one bite of the hamburger and distribute the ketchup while chewing.
Once I squeeze all the life out of the ketchup packets, I eat the fries while the hamburger
waits its turn. Then I finish the hamburger.

And then play with the toy.

i go back and forth. Bite of the cheeseburger, then a fry or two....

side note: Pet Peeve # 1,725 = People who cant wait to cram the fries down their gullet. I am talking about the cats that are standing at the counter eating their fries while they wait for the burger. A few more seconds isnt going to kill you; just wait for the entire meal to be prepared, sit down and eat.

I usually start out by wolfing down a couple of fries.

Then I put a bunch of fries ON my burger a la Primanti (I have been doing that since I was 5 - before I even knew about Primanti).

Then I alternate chomps on burger and fries...

I'm the only one that eats the fries first?

I feel like a huge dork.

Well, you are a huge dork (but it's not because you eat your fries first) :P

I normally like to mix it up, but it depends on where I'm getting a burger. While I very rarely go to a Burger King or McDonalds, I eat the burger first and then the fries. If I'm getting a real hamburger at a place like Burgh's Pizza and Wings in Bridgeville, I like to mix it up.

I'm kinky like that.

I usually cram my fries down my gullet before the burger gets to the counter.

And if I hit the drive through I cram my fries down my gullet before I get home to eat the burger.

So you're the other one that voted Fries first.

I usually eat some fries. Then the burger and finish off the remaining fries at the end. Always start with some fries first though...

Depends where I'm eating at...but usually I like to empty some ketchup and mayo add salt and pepper to the top and start eating the fries. I will probably eat quite a few fries before I touch the burger.

Vincent: You know what they put on French fries in Holland instead of ketchup?
Jules: What?
Vincent: Mayonnaise.
Jules: Godd@mn.
Vincent: I've seen 'em do it, man. They %*$#in' drown 'em in that $#!%.

Before you knock it...try it. Mix some ketchup and mayo...the mayo cuts the acidity of the ketchup and makes a wonderful combo for burgers or fries.

Isn't the "special sauce" on Big Macs basically just ketchup and mayo mixed together with some relish thrown in for good measure?

By the way, I eat my fries "au naturale" so no ketchup or mayo or whatever for me. If there happens to be a ranch dip available, I won't turn it down, but typically it is just the fries by themselves.

My brother does the mayo on fries things. Has always turned my stomach just to look at it.

In addition to ketchup I sure do like some malt vinegar too!

My brother and sister used to eat mayonnaise sandwiches. Just bread and mayo. Nothing else. Yecch. And I'm not even one of the militant mayo haters. I actually think that it can be quite good on, say, a BLT sandwich, for instance. Now that I mention it, I haven't had one of those in a while. Hmmm...

The only time I want anything to do with mayo is when it's an ingredient in deviled eggs.

Otherwise it can go, as far as I'm concerned.

Unfortunately, mayonnaise has got nowhere else to go. :(

Sure you do...there are 5 of them in the Pittsburgh area. http://www.fiveguys.com/locations.aspx?fAddress=15122 Try them out man!!!!!

For our West Coast posters, I would say they are similar to, but not exactly like, In-N-Out Burger.

Our Five Guys up here in NEPA still gives you free shelled peanuts while you wait for your burger and fries. Most places stopped such a practice due to fear of peanut allergy lawsuits, but I'm glad they haven't caved.

Next time you're in town 5 Guys is on me.

Just for the record:

5 guys is to In-N-Out what the Bengals are to the Steelers.

In-N-Out is foodgasm. Can't be beat no matter what. Just don't get too excited about the fries. Get the Double-Double "Animal Style." It's not on the menu, but it's to die for.

I'd say Five Guys is more like the Ravens to our Steelers. Similar, but not quite the same. There's something about it that just isn't as good as the original. :P

Oh, and Five Guys doesn't have any nasty looking purple in their color scheme...and nobody is doing a stupid dance in front of the fry vat! :D

It looks like he got splashed with boiling hot oil from the French fry vat!

"Aminal Style"

I think you may be getting a little bit too...ahem...familiar with your food.

The next thing you know, you will be talking about how pastrami is the most sensual of all the salted, cured meats.
