in 2005 most of steelernation thought the season was over after the cincy loss, but the next week in the snow we destroyed da bears and went on to win 4 straight..
Well tonight we don't play the bears, but we play the browns in the snow, hopefully we roll off 4 wins in a row again and see what happens...

Right now the deja vu is more reminiscent of the 06 season than the 05 season.

Only if they end up 8-8; right now it feels like 2005. The fans were down on the 2005 team in a big way prior to the win Chicago. It still feels like 2005 until the Steelers lose their next game, then it officially becomes 2006.

It feels more like 06 to me than 05. I believe our 3-game losing streak involved two with Tommy Turnover and one with Ben returning in his 1st game against a hot Indy team. In 06 we kept losing due to lack of focus. Four of our losses have involved heavy lack of focus:

CHI (Holmes with multiple drops, Wallace fails to cut the ball back in for an easy 1st down conversion)
CIN (Sweed drops an open pass in the EZ, D gives up a 4th and 10)
KC (Miller's easy drop; Wallace stripped on a deep pass reception; D gives us 3 big plays)
BAL (D gives up 17 yards on a 3rd and 22, then a huge play to Rice)
OAK (Burnett drops the easiest of INTs unmolested right into his chest as he appears to be thinking run after the catch; D gives up THREE 4thQ TD drives to a 2nd string QB, helping him along the way with a spearing penalty)

Compare to 06 ...

DEN multiple fumbles (by Santonio) to put the game out of reach
ATL Nate Washington flinches on an "all you needed to do was stand still" snap from center near the end of regulation to draw a penalty and run the clock out by rule on a would-be game-winning 45 yard FG. Instead we lose in OT.
OAK I think we all remember this debacle among which was a failure to convert any points on a 1st and goal from the 1. FIRST AND GOAL FROM THE 1.
Whatever happened to sneak-sneak-sneak-score?????
CIN Multiple turnovers in our half of the field

that 06 season was sick, and i dont know what loss hurt worse, the atlanta loss, knowing that we would probably win the game if not for an illegal formation from nate, or the oakland game.......one more win would of had us in the playoffs...

it's looking more like the redskins start to the season when they couldn't beat any of the bottom dwellers. we've been beaten by less than mediocre teams.

no way that trend is the story of the organization. if that were true the steelers wouldnt have 6 sb wins. this is just a down year much like 2006 was

We had character in 2005

I remember after the INDY Game on Monday Night thinking this team still has hope. Taylor got toasted on the first play for an 80 yard TD, but after that we kept INDY in check for the rest of the game.
When we lost to INDY and CINCY that year we were only misfiring on 1 cylinder.

This year ... we have no identity.
We can't play a full 60 minutes.
We can move the ball, but can't finish off drives
Our pass rush is up and down.
Our tackling sucks
Troy is out
and we can't force Turnovers outside of knocking the ball out of QB's hands.
our DBs just aren't getting the job done.
