Steelers release Palko, promote wide receiver
Wednesday, December 09, 2009
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The Steelers today released quarterback Tyler Palko and signed rookie receiver Tyler Grisham from their practice squad.

There are two reasons for the move: Charlie Batch's broken left wrist has healed well enough to allow him to serve as the No. 3 quarterback, and Hines Ward's grade-one hamstring injury has not healed well enough for him to play tomorrow night in Cleveland.

"Little Welker"
If he lives up to his nickname...He could be a player.
I guess the Steelers kept him on the practice squad because they saw something. Actually like the nickname "Little Ward". He loves getting after DBs downfield and he's a tough SOB who does the dirty work. Nice hands and probably popular with the Steeler chicks!

I remember watching Grisham at training camp and he really seemed to have good hands and run nice routes. A little small for sure, but maybe his hands are better than Sweed?

The only thing Sweed has better hands than is a clock.

Luv ya Sweed. Hope you get out of this slump and start building your confidence back up. We need you...Sooner than you think!

Very surprised. I assumed they would bring back McDonald.

WooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I like this kid. Quick, good hands. Seemed like a natural even though a little small.

Every white WR for the next two decades will be compared to Welker. It's an unwritten rule. You can only compare white WR's to other white WR's and black WR's to other black WR's. No one ever says anything like "Austin Collie reminds me of a young Isaac Bruce"...he has to be compared to Welker. All short white WR's will be compared to Welker, just like all tall white WR's are compared to Ed McCaffrey. Of course, you can't compare anyone to Ward, since there are no other half-black, half-Korean WR's in the NFL.
