From PFT:

Larry Johnson on way to Cincinnati
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 16, 2009 1:18 PM ET
It looks like the Bengals will keep collecting reclamation projects at running back.

ESPN's Michael Smith is reporting that Larry Johnson is currently en route to Cincinnati. Barring a breakdown in talks, L.J. is expected to sign with the Bengals.

Soon after Cedric Benson was hurtSunday, Mike Florio passed along growing rumors that Johnson could land with the Bengals. PFT had previously reported Saturday that Johnson could potentially end up in stripes, and that was when Benson was fully healthy.

Now it appears Benson will get the chance to take the older Johnson under his wing and show him how to turn his career around. (Oh boy.)

The Bengals said Sunday that Benson would be ready for this week's game against Oakland. Johnson's arrival could allow the team to play it safe with their lead back.

Either way, the Bengals backfield is about to get a lot more interesting. And combustible.

This is interesting. After Benson, I suppose they're hoping that lightning can strike twice, and that they'll succeed with another reclamation project?

I can't stand Larry Johnson. I can't (Well I can) believe that we are about to sign this turd.

I get that Benson is banged up and even if healthy needs some relief, but LJ is a tool. I don't know why we don't try to resign Kenny Watson. He's not flashy but he always got the job done in the past when we needed him to...

With LJ and Ocho, things could metastasize quickly.

It was discovered earlier this season that the Ocho is benign.

LJ on the other hand, meh...

The two of them can post stupid things on Twitter together.

Ruthless, I'm a little disappointed. I'm no gay rights advocate or anything, but I think this is way more offensive than what is normally tolerated around here. You are a moderator for pete's sake. On a site that feels that Coach Lebeau's first name is too off color, it is somehow acceptable to use words like "faggot" and "homo". It just seems wrong.

Marvin Lewis just stated he talked to LJ last thursday. Told him he would be the #4 RB behind Cedric Benson, Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard (If signed).

This should end well. Kind of like signing Allen Iverson and thinking he'll have no problem coming off the bench...

It's called satire. Larry Johnson gets kicked off the Chiefs for making such comments on his Twitter account and to reporters. I was joking about the type of comments L.J. might continue to make once he arrives in Cincinnati. It was in jest...perhaps I should have made that more clear. I thought the fact that it was in the L.J. to the Bengals thread made that clear enough, but I guess I was wrong. And I thought Jigawatts had it bad with people taking his "bad feeling about this game" threads seriously. Yikes.

I'll just get signed on as a 4th string moderator on a Bengals board. I'll be their version of JOM in reverse.

JOM, good point on Watson. I would think that he would make more sense. Either Watson or Chris Perry. Are either of those two still playing?

Watson and Perry were both cut and didn't sign anywhere else. Perry and the Bengals I think are done. Can't have someone who fumbles as much as Perry does carry the ball on this team.

Watson I'm not sure what happened. He played really well us when Rudi went down two seasons ago. Then didn't get many if any snaps last season and was let go this year. Not sure if the coaching staff and him didn't get along or what.

Another player I forgot about is James Johnson. He would probably be my leading candidate to add as a 4th RB to the team. He's on our Practice Squad at the moment...

Even though he showed in his short time in Seattle that he is nowhere near his former self, I think Edge James would have been a better signing then Larry Johnson for the Bengals at this point. But then again, aside from the Bengals, Raiders, and Asterisks, who else would even consider signing Johnson? So I guess it makes sense in that regard.
