Watch our Steeler season DVD's the NFL puts out and you'll learn that Who Dey is We Dey.
We own you guys , always have and always will. Other than a win once in a while against the Steelers, what have yo accomplished ?
What have you done to win a championship ? The Steelers have always stood in the Bengals way and always will. You guys at best have been a speed bump to our team.

Don't hate the Steelers, hate the people that own your team they, are the biggest problem your team has.

Oh yeah, number 7 is on its way.

Interesting trickle down effect this injury is going to have. Brandon Johnson has been our best ST's player, so if he's getting more snaps on defense it should cut down his ST snaps.

Which might have an effect on who the receiver is that replaces Chris Henry. Jerome Simpson our 2nd round pick from last season has a shot at replacing Henry but Maurice Purify is a great ST's player not to meantion a very physical WR, who might get called up from the PS instead to replace Henry because he can play on teams...

In other Bengal injury news Roy Williams was placed on the IR today and Purify will take his place on the 53 man roster.

Williams has been hurt since the first Ravens game, so I don't think we'll miss much defensively. Ndukwe has been doing a really good job in his place.

Purify should be an interesting addition to the 53 man roster though. The guy is big (6'3, 225 lbs.). Not fast but a devastating blocker. Might actually see a big run with him blocking downfield. Probably not against you guys though...

I don't think Williams is much of a loss. Ndukwe is a much better cover safety and probably as good a tackler. However, Rivers being out hurts your defense. He is a good linebacker who is still learning and has the potential to be great. In fact you guys have drafted 2 good linebackers the last 2 years. What happened, did MB finally spring for a scouting department? :)

Don't worry Jom, we know the trickle down effect that happens when starters go out and backup/ST players are forced to start.

Like when Smith went out and Kirschke had to start.
When Kirschke went out and Eason had to start.
When Clark sat out in Denver and Some short guy Carter had to start. Carter starting for Troy when he was out earlier in the year.
Timmons out and Fox had to start.
FWP out, Mendenhall in.
Stapleton out, Essex in.

Let me tell you Jom, you can't overcome issues like that. You get off to a bad start...say 1-2, and it is all downhill from there!!

I'm guessing but I believe it has to do with the new coaching staff on defense.

Zimmer and Fitzgerald are getting LB's that fit their system. In the past we had LB's like Landon Johnson (6'2 230 lbs) and Caleb Miller (6'3 225 lbs). Zimmer wants bigger guys who can shed blockers and actually stop RB's before they are already 6-8 yards downfield. Maualuga (6'2 250 lbs) and Rivers (6'2 240 lbs) are prime examples of that.

Brandon Johnson, Rivers replacement is not bad. He's a better blitzer and he's better in coverage than Rivers. But he can't stop the run like Rivers can...

Depth is something that always separated us from the elite teams in the AFC like you guys, the Colts and the Patriots.

We would play well but as soon as some of our starters go down we're done, whereas you guys just plugged away with the next guy. This year we're doing a lot better of having guys step up. In years past when a guy like Odom went down we would have no one with the ability to step up. Whether that was because of talent, coaching or both, it just didn't work out. This season it appears to be different...
