Fix for Terrible Towel hex? Titans players autograph Steelers' good-luck charm
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2009/10/fix-for-terrible-towel-hex-titans-players-autograph-steelers-good-luck-charm/1

If the switch to Vince Young doesn't help the winless Titans, maybe a plea to the Terrible Towel gods will.

Tennessee's Keith Bulluck and LenDale White autographed a Terrible Towel on Thursday in a charity effort. The two stomped on the favorite of Steelers fans in the last game the Titans won -- against Pittsburgh last Dec. 21.

Former Titans player Brad Hopkins asked the players to autograph the towel and send it to the Allegheny Valley School, which benefits from the sale of Terrible Towels.

Hopkins joked it could be the end to the Titans' eight-game winless streak. "We can't figure out what is wrong with this organization," he said, via Bleacher Report, "so we figure it had to be the towel." -- Sean Leahy

Good luck with all that! :tt2   :tt2

Umm ... sign it???? :wft Their signature has no place on The Terrible Towel!! :nono

Real humility that breaks the curse would be showing up at the AFCCG and waving it when the Steelers win and then following up at the Super Bowl ... B*TCH!!!! :tt2

THAT would be priceless. :tt1

Signing it along with a hefty donation would be the right thing to do and Bill Hillgrove has said that if a donation is made that Myron Cope empowered him to remove the curse before his passing. So, pony up the cash Titans and the curse can be removed by "Terrible Towel Succession" as vested in Bill Hillgrove by Myron Cope.

that is hilllarious......talk about eating your words, now they are autographing their names on the towel asking for forgiveness............the towel will bestow forgiveness, however, the titans will not beat Pittsburgh for the next 20 years...

Titans Try To Break Terrible Towel Curse With Charitable Donation
Keith Bulluck, LenDale White Sign Steeler Towel For Allegheny Valley School

CORAOPOLIS, Pa. -- Steelers fans call it the "curse of the Terrible Towel," and the Tennessee Titans are hoping to stop the horror this Halloween weekend. Tennessee Titans teammates LenDale White and Keith Bulluck autographed one of Myron Cope's official Terrible Towels for Allegheny Valley School.

Amy Harvilla, a spokeswoman for Allegheny Valley School in Coraopolis, said one of Myron Cope's signature yellow towels arrived in the mail Friday, signed by Titans teammates Keith Bulluck and LenDale White.
The towel will be used as an auction item to raise money for the school, which, per Cope's wishes, already gets a portion of all proceeds from Terrible Towel sales. The school works with children and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Tennessee hasn't won since Dec. 21, 2008, when Bulluck and White were seen on television stomping a Terrible Towel into the ground in the final moments of a victory over the Steelers. "This is not an apology," said White, who had a good laugh as he signed the towel. "I'll probably never apologize unless I'm playing with the Steelers one day, but, you know, it is what it is. It's going for a good cause and I'm happy to help it."

By donating the towel, Nashville's WNSR-AM sports radio host Thom Abraham is trying to conjure up some good karma and snap the Titans' lengthy losing streak.

After that fateful moment, the top-seeded Titans went on to lose their final game of the 2008 season, plus their first playoff game. They've also dropped all six games so far in the 2009 season. Along with the signed towel, Abraham sent the school a handwritten note that said, "LenDale and Keith wish you all the best" and "P.S. Please release the curse!!"

"But I want the curse to stay on, if I had my choice," said Steelers fan Ricky Rawlings, a resident of the school on Ewings Mill Road. The Titans will play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Win or lose, Bulluck says he'll also make a monetary donation to the school.

:x

All is not forgiven nor is it made right. Enjoy the 2009 season. I hope winning ONE GAME against the Steelers in 2008 was worth it.

PS - The sixth Lombardi looks real sweet.

Titans up 30-13 early in the 4th quarter. See? All you had to do was show respect to the towel and help raise some money for the Allegheny Valley School. Was that so hard?

Do you think anyone will be stupid enough to mess with the :tt2 :tt1 again?
