Tone relax man. When you put on your helmet and cleats and step foot on the field, Miller and/or Wallace are going to be open on nearly every play. your presence opens up this offense and you make everyone around you better. other teams are on notice that if they make one mistake against you it could lead to a quick 6. Alot of other guys are getting their time to shine because of you, but all steeler fans know that you are the real impetus.

Santonio Holmes: WTF does impetus mean? I don't need no viagra.

jigawatts that was hilarious. im still laughing. ok, impetus is the beginning of something or the cause of something. and after wallace scored yesterday tone didn't respond with the requisite enthusiasm. or maybe im reaching. but im just thinking that our offensive roster causes alot of problems for opposing defenses. i would even say that we could be even more dynamic if mendenhall had a heart and logan got some touches in the flat in space. could you imagine having to account for wallace and/or holmes deep and intermediate, then mendy and/or logan short. then you have pro bowlers miller and/or ward. impossible to stop. of course ben would have to at least look at the short and at least amuse the thought with a pump fake or two.

p.s. drew brees is starting to irritate me and this coach payton guy is even worse. but talking alot of junk. but their backing it up. yeah im sure now... i hate them lol.

I was a little annoyed that he started doing the bicep flexing thing after what I thought was a routine reception and we were trailing on the scoreboard. I want him to get pumped up an all but do it when you score or we take the lead etc.. Not on, like, your 1st 12 yard catch when we are losing the game :?

Btw, I think I read into your post: Don't let your ego tell you that you need the ball more or you aren't getting enough praise/hype from people. We love you S'tone and recognize that your mere presence makes our offense better.

You are a very impotent part of our offense??? :P

I hate that, looks stupid, scrawny dude to boot, should be the last guy to flex.

Every time he does that bicep flex I think about how his biceps were the smallest contributor to the play. Whatever happened to the quad/hamstring flex?

well i noticed too, and it really irrated it me that after wallace scored, holmes kind of just walked over to him and jogged to the bench, no enthusiasm what so ever....if he scores than he is the happiest guy on the team, but when another receiver scores, ehhh...i hate saying this but, im really starting to believe that he cares more about his stats and himself than the team success....after the super bowl last year when he scored the whole bench knew he scored becasue he said thats how you (pointing to himself) become great and he was pumping himself up,

thats why you have to love offensive lines and tight ends, they score and it is all about the team, they run to the player that scored and jump on top of them all excited, (hines gets excited over team success too)...

Yea, I am starting to come to the realization that Santonio can never replace Hines Ward. And that is sad to me, because that was what I had hoped for. I used to hate that "point at my nameplate on my jersey" thing, but this bicep flex after I just carried the ball like a freshly baked loaf of bread really irritates me. Just play the f'in game, tone.

The pointing at the nameplate on the back of the jersey thing is worse than the flexing thing, in my opinion.

How ironic. I remember hearing him on Jim Rome and he sounded like the ultimate team player. He came off like he really wanted to be the leader of the team, even mentioned that Hines was starting to back off a little to let him start to take over....... Maybe, that was a sign right there, that he is a little self centered?

I didn't notice him snub Wallace after his TD but I'll start watching. That flexing the bicep thing kills me though, especially like Mel said on a routine play. The holding the ball like a loaf of bread thing should get him benched for a half IMO. After all the plays we fumbled away TD's, he should know there's no F'ing place in the game for that!

NO ONE can replace Hines Ward. The type of player and mind set he brings to the WR position is something you see once a generation/decade. I have never expected Holmes to bring the same thing to the table.

However, he's got great skills as re receiver and the Steelers and Hines have at least rubbed off enough that he takes his blocking assignments seriously and has a decent work ethic. That's about all you can hope for. I just hope Ward is around long enough to rub off on Wallace and maybe another receiver as well before he hangs it up.

Yea, I guess I overstated it a bit. When I said "replace" Hines Ward, I meant being more of a go-to kind of guy and a true leader ont he team. He will never be Hines Ward.

I'm not gonna start slamming s'tone just yet about being a me-only selfish guy. My only point was I don't really like any celebration when the other team is winning and it's not even a real big play. I don't mind guys doing the muscle flex thing if that gets them jacked up. I like my team to have the mindset that they will not be physically beaten by anyone. And I also think s'tone is quite strong for his size - very little body fat on that home boy I'm guessing. He doesn't go down super easy on tackles and gives some pretty authoritative straight arms to some dbs take try and take him up high (btw I just ordered a pic of him straight-arming rodgers-cromartie in last years SB 8) - thanks strlz d for the heads up on that $30 coupon!). He's a young guy and it's natural he would want some individual accolades and wants the ball while he's in his prime. As long he doesn't go to far with it where the attitude effects his team effort.

And yeah, Hines is one of a kind. As a fan of the 70's Steelers, the greatest receiver in Steeler history is not a title I, or anyone else I'm guessing, assign lightly. Though iId love to see S'tone set bettering Hines as a goal

Every time I make an average play at work I headbutt a supervisor and throw my DIAD
into the stands. It's a little over-the-top, but my fans love it.

That's excessive celebration, Jiga. Take 15 minutes off of your coffeebreak. Repeat the down.

Plus a $15,000 fine, to be garnished from your paycheck. Also, you may have been bumped down to mailroom duty for next week...

Your sales went up due to your fans digging your show but you'll think twice before doing that again!

If I took 15 minutes off, I'd only have negative 5 minutes left of break time.

I work at UPS, so being bumped down to any kind of mailroom would greatly help my back.
I'll take it.

Okay, then. Half the distance to the goalline...errr...your next coffeebreak will be half as long.

And another $5000 uniform violation fine since the shoes you are currently wearing are not an officially licensed Reebok product.

Back OT...

GEEZUS, ARE YOU GUYS SO SEN-SI-TIVE!!!

Yeah, yeah, it's a bit over the top with the biceps and the SB behaviour were a tad self centered, but....I suspect Tone is recovering from self esteem issues. He wasn't exactly the poster child for model behaviour when we drafted him and now he's probably acting more out of self re-assurance than anything.

I don't think a TO-like personality exists there and if it went towards that path, I think Tomlin will jerk a knot in his acs pretty quick about it.

We could have much bigger things to worry about with him, you know.

We are just spoiled!
