Despite having the highest passing yardage total for the week, Ben got shafted as a nominee for the FedEx air award...so go cast a vote for Brees or Schaub...anyone but Brady!

The other guys had huge games, but unreal that 400+ yards doesn't garner a nomination. I voted for Brees.

Yea, if you caught Deon Sanders' top 10 primetime players on Sunday . . . I guess 400 yards passing doesn't get you on that either. Seriously, :wft Ben doesn't get the acknologement because he doesn't put up the big numbers, except for when he does, then I'm sure they come up with another reason.

now lets be honest here.....
big ben had 417 yds, dont get me wrong it was outstanding but..

scaub had 391?, and he had 4 touchdowns, he made a good case
brees played against the friggin giants and had 4 touchdowns and over 350 yds
and brady had 6 tds and was flawless...

That's what I said when the link to this vote was first included on this thread:

And just because it was stlrz_d who starting this vote thread after the link to this poll was already posted elsewhere, I should give him a big ol'

I could do the same to you for starting a separate topic on Reed even though there was a lengthy discussion on the topic already.

At least in my defense I hadn't seen the link in that thread because I hadn't looked in that thread yet.

After YEARS of whinning that Ben doesnt get respect because we simply choose not to throw AS MUCH as other teams NOW 400 yards means something.

400 yards mean nothing in and of itself. Ben LOST badly the last time it happened.

400 yards, and only 2 TDs and a pick? AGAINST the BROWNS? The other guys were better.
And Brady was "off the charts" good, and you all know it.

Ben played well, but HE has played better many times.

This is actually two weeks in a row.

Last week he performed better than Peyton overall, and he won last week:
- Peyton was 36 of 44, 309yds, 3TD's, and 1 INT = 81.8 comp%, 7.0yds/att, 14.6 att/TD, 118.6 QB Rating
- Ben was 23 of 30, 277yds, 3TD's, and 1 INT = 76.7 comp%, 9.2yds/att, 10att/TD, 138.3 QB Rating

He certainly played better than Schuab this week. Sure Schuab had 4 TD's, but he wasn't as efficient as Ben and we actually have a running back that can put it in the endzone too.

Not saying ye necessarily deserved to win either week, but getting snubbed for nomination the past two weeks is a little pathetic.

But to be honest, I really don't care what the media pundits think. They play to the ratings, not reality. Most people who are not Steelers fans really seem to really dislike Steelers and Ben (not really sure where the animosity comes from).

winning, and jealousy is basically it....i admit i hate the yankees because they seem to win (albeit by signing free agent after free agent), its okay, we do get the shaft alot but whatever, i still cant hear well because of the ringing of last years super bowl win..

I have a feeling you are correct. But I don't hate the yankees because they win. I can not, under good contiguous, root for the Yankees because they are allowed to play on steroids (metiphore for the unfair, or no existant, regulation of cash that can be used to "juice" their team with an all-star cast). This is sadly why I've lost so much interest in MLB (coming from someone who played baseball competitively through college, that is saying something).

I can't see how you would resent an origination for being able to find a way to be perennial winners/contenders when playing by the same rules and resources as everyone else. You'd think it should be something to be admired. But I guess it is often human nature to have jealousy and animosity towards those that achieve what you have not.

You could make an argument that the same "jealousy" fuels this thread.

Yup. As long as Ben has more of these http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:VkvPRj8VnJs7gM:http://students.georgiasouthern.edu/greeklife/George-W-Bush.jpg than these http://www.yardbarker.com/media/c/5/c5c37e8e6b90ba89b19916d2626aac32667f04d2/related/Baltimore_Ravens_v_a8ac.jpg, then nothing else matters.

Ben was 4th, just the way it is.
No way his numbers against the Browns were better than these 3. Just the way it is.

Let's not look so biased to look past the obvious in comparing their performances this week. Just bad timing for Ben to have a great week.

Actually that's what prompted this thread. Last week Ben did outplay Manning despite having fewer yards, but since it's the AIR award it should be the guy who threw for the most yards, right?

FF to this week and Ben throws for the most yards...but gets snubbed for the guys who threw for more TDs.

You could make that argument, but that's not what this is really all about. I was just having a bit of fun with this weeks ballot is all. Just fun, fan stuff, you know? Silliness and nothing more.
