View Full Version : Steelers receiver Holmes is having trouble catching the ball

Former Ohio State Buckeye wide receiver Santonio Holmes is not having an outstanding start this season.

Holmes, the MVP of last year's Super Bowl for those Pittsburgh Steelers, caught whatever was ailing Braylon Edwards in Cleveland. Holmes has the "dropsies."

Holmes dropped three passes including a potential touchdown in the fourth quarter in a loss to Chicago. He had another drop in the next week in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. And in an article in The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Holmes ran the wrong route on a Ben Roethlisberger's interception against the Bengals.

Besides playing for those Steelers, what's wrong with Holmes?

Holmes does have a sore wrist, but he's not using that as an excuse.

"That had an impact on me dropping those balls in Chicago," Holmes said about the wrist injury. "But, after that, no. I can't make any excuses. I play wide receiver. I'm supposed to catch the ball."
