Steelers may sign a fullback
by Ed Bouchette

The Steelers may look to sign a fullback because of injuries to rookies David Johnson and Frank Summers, coach Mike Tomlin said today.

Johnson has a high ankle sprain and Summers has an unknown back injury that sent him to the doctor today.

Tomlin also said that veteran wide receiver Sean McDonald may suit up instead of Limas Sweed this Sunday.

It would be nice to bring LoNeal aboard (but Arians already decreed that he will never employ a "real" fullback. :HeadBanger ). Could this mean the triumphant return of Carey Davis? :loser I wouldn't be surprised. :moon

Ugh. Just when I was excited about the idea of a fullback, you have to go and mention Carey Davis. If they are going to sign a FB, he probably is the most logical signing. And after watching Summers, he is probably an upgrade, which is quite depressing.

there is already talk on the other boards that Carey is signed. it's kind of a double wammy with this news because, the string title reads, Carey Davis is back ? And then the post states that he is signed.

The bad news is, Davis seems better than Summers.

Better Davis than the Dump Truck.

We have a FB our practice squad that I think would actually fit well with your team, Chris Pressley. He would be our starting FB if Jeremi Johnson didn't finally learn how not to be over 300lbs.

But he's a straight blocking type of FB. Not much on the pass catching, so Arians probably isn't interested...
