I thought that offensive holding was a ten yard penalty, but I could swear that when it was called on the Steelers, it only moved them back five yards each time.

Did it change from last year?

If holding is done down the field (like by a WR) it is a spot foul, meaning you penalize from the spot of the holding. That may be what you saw.

if there is holding inside the 10 yd line than they mark it half the distance to the goal line, unless of course it is holding in the endzone than it is a safety, just like in the super bowl

of course though, i am confused as to why some holding penalties are called and some obvious ones are not, been confused over that for the past 17 years...

James Harrison is consistently confused by the same thing.
