Disagree.

He does quite well and finishes people/the block quite often. Not quite like Bruener was but solid.

There are times he blocks well and times he looks really bad. Will he ever be Bruener? Not sure. I think he will put in the work to become a more consistent blocker.

BS. Heath is a good in-line blocker and great at blocking down the field. Check out his block on the play Hines fumbled on.

lol what? He's one of the better blocking TE's in the NFL. He most definitely can block.

He's a good blocker and the one dude made a slip to Miller side, he never had a chance to put a hat on a hat.

it's a myth.. way too many times I have seen Miller beat in the run blocking department. I'm not saying he sucks but I think the "better blocking TE" title he gets is no more true then Mend being a "great inside runner"

it sounds good but Miller gets beat just as much as the rest of our OL..

just saying..

I'm talking about run blocking not hitting a DB downfield. his run blocking is not top 5 like many want to believe..

Dude is a beast with his hands and can catch anything but uhhh.. run blocking? He is just as bad as the rest of the OL.

You are comparing his blocking ability to o-lineman? Compare him to other TE's like Gates, Gonzalez, Winslow, etc. and you will see that he more than holds his own as a blocking TE (who can also catch a bunch of balls as well).

this thread wasn't about trading Miller or listing off better TE's.. this is about our run game being terrible and our OL getting a ton of blame but Miller seems to be above criticism because he can catch really well.

Dude needs to get better at blocking IMO.

Did anyone watch the run game last night? What do other TE's have to do with Miller's blocking? We were 23rd in rushing and will be 32nd if we keep this up.

I'm not comparing Miller to any other TE and to keep it real... most of the TE's listed get twice the touches Miller gets.. I'm comparing Miller to our other TE's and their blocking ability..

I know Miller is much better then Bruener catching the ball but if you guys think Miller catching passes makes up for his blocking then OK.. I think and expect him to do better in the run blocking then he did last night.

but we were 23rd in rushing due mostly to the oline. i dont see heath's blocking as the problem. with a good oline heath's blocking is never mentioned. those other te's get twice the touches miller gets because they get twice as many passes thrown to them. not too mention the times heath has to stay back to protect ben. how many pass catching te's have to do that as much as heath does?

Heath isn't part of this OL when we run now? WTF?

what the hell does catching passes have to do with blocking on running plays?
what do other TE's have to do with this thread?

Miller is our TE.. if you think he blocks fine then great.. I think he needs to improve.
If you Tivo'd the game go back and watch Miller on some of those run plays and tell me how great he is...

BLOCKING ON RUN PLAYS PEOPLE!!! 23 rushing plays for 35 yards....
this isn't about pass production...

I agree with you that Miller needs to improve his run and pass blocking. There are times he gets beat badly when the Olinemen do their jobs. For some reason his mistakes get over looked. Maybe because he is a fan favorite? It is an area he definitely needs to work at to become more consistent.
