Alright folks, I just went to see the new Star Trek movie this afternoon, and I wasn't disappointed!

For those that never watched the tv show, you will still be able to follow and enjoy this movie. And for those that did watch the show years ago, you'll love some of the little references made here and there as the movie goes along... It was just over 2 hours long.

I won't spoil any of the movie for those planning to go see it, but I will say that they did a great job of showing how the original crew (Kirk, Spock, Sulu, Checkov, McCoy, Scottie, and Uhura) came together.

Very fast-paced without any dull moments, funny, and entertaining with spectacular special effects.

... I highly recommend it to everyone.

I feel like this is a movie I might need to see again to really appreciate. I was entertained the whole time, but witout really know ANYTHING about Star Trek going in, I was a bit confused.

Basically, I felt like I was watching a better version of Starship Troopers

Not a bad show for a non-Trekkie like me. Good popcorn flick for the theaters (even if J.J. Abrams once again relies on the time travel premise as a major part of the plot).

What confused me is that Kirk's mom's name is Winona, and they ended up casting a Winona, but they gave the Winona Kirk part to Cameron from House, giving the real-life Winona the role of Spock's mom instead. :?: :!: :?: :!: Don't you think that her Vulcan husband or son would have convinced her that it is illogical for a millionaire actress to shoplift at Saks Fifth Avenue?

Agree with all of you. Outstanding movie. I definitely want to see it again too. Good story all around, pretty well acted, awesome effects.
