It really seems to me like the new commish loves the Pats and hats the Steelers. I am surprised he didn't find a way to help allow the steelers to lose the SB. Facts: Pats cheated for 3-5 years. Result one of two 1st rounders taken and a few bucks and that is it--Lets sweep it under the rug. The constant fines on Steeler players for tackling other players to hard. And now this a 5th rnd pick for Faneca and the Pats get pick #1 and two others--what a shocker!!!

The comp picks for the Patriots were actually fair. They lost Asante Samuel, Randall Gay and Donte Stallworth.
All three were signed to deals that warranted those picks. No need to hate.
If you want to hate on anyone, hate on the Titans. They got 5 overall picks including a 4th round pick for Antwon Odom...

Oh, don't worry about us hating on the Titans. It is already marked down on the calendar in red pen. There will plenty of Titan hate a-flowin' on 9-10-09. Bring on those Towel Stomping bastages!!!

I disagree. They either need to line up all "third round" level comp picks by team record or organize them strictly by players lost vs. players gained. It is unfair to apply the rule only to the Super Bowl winner and not to teams that finished with good records or made the playoffs. I don't mind picking last in all situations as long as other successful teams are held to the same standard.

There it is or do away with the compensatory process entirely. If you lose what is deemed a 3rd round pick you should get a 3rd round pick period. Rate the teams based on record and move on; the Steelers should get the last comp in the 3rd. It's so F***ing simple a caveman could teach Goodell how to do it.

I say do away with it all together.

Let me clarify SB. The Patriots getting 3 comp picks is fair because it's inline with the current compensatory pick process.
It's process itself is crap though...

Agreed. The NFL awards Comp picks according to some convoluted computation. This is addition to the 10,000 page rule book they expect their officials to know off the top of their heads. And absolutely no fans understand the rules. Yet they keep adding on....

Too funny...I clicked on the button to read the last post in the thread, which was by 100$handshake. Then I scrolled up to read the one preceding it. Before getting to the top of the post I saw a mock draft in a sig. BJ Raji is the first round selection. I thought to myself, "Who in the hell is foolish enough to think this guy is going to fall to us at #32???"
Then I scrolled up a bit more and saw it was Jom's post. :P
