Does anyone have any news on the Tory Holt departure from St. Louis? Is he looking for big bucks somewhere? Does he still have any juice in the tank? Could he be the same speed guy up the field that Joey Galloway would be? He always seemed like a good citizen in St. Louis would the Steelers have any ineterest in the guy?

He'll likely want a starting gig somewhere like Philly or Minnesota. He's actually a few months younger than Hines Ward (Hines turned 33 last week, and Torry will turn 33 in June...interestingly enough, on the same day that I turn 34). Galloway, on the other hand, is 37 now, and will turn 38 before Thanksgiving. Galloway could likely be had for around the veteran minimum. Holt, while he won't break the bank with blockbuster type deal, will likely want a starting gig and starter's money. Holt is 14th on the all-time receiving yardage list, and will ascend to the top 10 with a little more than 500 yards this season. He's not the kind of guy who would be willing to sign a minimal deal to be a 3rd WR at this point in his career. He would be a good Steeler, but it won't happen.

Wont happen.
Would be nice to have a piece of the greatest show on turf in the burgh for a bit, maybe, but then again this is a much aged version of the WR who ripped defenses apart..

he's not a 'steeler' type FA. which means 1) he wont play for league minimum 2) he isn't a castoff from detroit 3) he isn't a backup

I do believe Holt will want to start for lots of money but the Steelers do have a history with ex-Ram players. Off the top of my head Gandy (Wayne?), Kevin Greene, The Bus, are there others anyone can come up with? Holt may just want a shot at another SB ring before he fades into the dusk and who better than the Steelers to get that ring with?
