IIRC this guy was a solid player in NY. Maybe someone who could flourish here. Anyone know anything bad about him.

The Jets drafted him when they were running a 4-3. Then they changed coaches and tried to run a 3-4, which did not suit Robertson's skill set. At 6'1" 308, he is too light for a 3-4 NT, and too short for a 3-4 DE. After trying him at NT and failing, they traded him to the Broncos. The fact that he was making so much money and both his knees are pretty much shot lead to his demise in Denver.

Joey Porter would not like the fact that I included the words "shot" and "in Denver" in the same sentence.

Robertson would not be a realistic option here.

Thanks, Good info. Doesn't sound like an option.

He was due some obscene bonus...like $16 million. This was a no brainer cut for the Broncos. And I remember him being good with the Jets several years ago but honestly didn't even know he was still in the NFL...fell off the face of the Earth lately...

Casey Hampton is 6'1" - 325, who is said to be "overweight" at times.

You telling me Robertson who is 6'1'' as well, can't put on about 8 to 10 pounds? Who is actually listed as 317 on the Broncos website, not 308.

The Jets didn't cut because of him not fitting in the 3-4. His last year in New York was actually his best season stat wise. I'd compare his departure to James Farrior and Jonathan Vilma. The Jets simply do not know what they're doing in the first round.

If Snack only weighs 325 then I'm the queen of bloody England.

During the season he does. Can't speak for his training camp arrivals.

No way. When he came to camp, it looked like he was pushing 4 bills. He likely plays somewhere in the neighborhood of 340-350 during the season if I had to guess (and that is being kind to Casey). He likely hasn't smelled 325 since, um, high school?

The weight that teams list for their players is not exactly based in reality all of the time.

On the same nfl.com site you provided, James Farrior is listed at 243 lbs.

http://www.nfl.com/players/jamesfarrior/profile?id=FAR709765

In this Post-Gazette article, he talks about playing at 218 lbs.

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08354/936233-66.stm

The team would never list 218 lbs as a weight for Farrior, because 243 lbs is a much better weight for an ILB. Safeties should weigh 218.

The team would never list 393 lbs as a weight for Hampton, because 325 lbs is a much better weight for a human. Small elephants should weigh 393 lbs.

Hell, I'd wager he's over 325 at the END of the season!

He's a big...snack!

Yeah...here he is in the Super Bowl, and there is still an ample layer of blubber sneaking out of the bottom of that jersey.

Grady Jackson is listed at 245. Word around here was he played at 270. I've seen him up close (dinner at Texas Roadhouse, he was seated near where I was waiting for my table) and he was easily 270.

That being said, I don't think it's a stretch that Snack plays at 240-250.

Yeah, I suppose you wouldn't get the nickname Big Snack if you were weighing in around 325. I figured it was off. Just like NFL.com has Robertson at 308, but yahoo sports has him at 317.

There's not THAT many genuine Nose Tackles in this draft. If Robertson is up to it, he's still young enough, the Steelers could get him to be the 'future' NT if he comes in at a 'reasonable' price.

As for Hampton, has anyone seen the way he walks & runs? That dude is closer to 390lbs than 320lbs.
