Found a way to make this Steeler related so I put it in this forum, ha. Also because for the soccer fans that don't go into the General Forum, I was at the game and wanted to share the experience.

Scroll down to the fourth post for the Steeler part.

The header Donovan played back into the box was awesome, the finish sucked the first one should have been in the net. They were fortunate that the keeper couldn't control the rebound.

Great game for the US though.

Oh, yea, Steelers are 6 time Lombardi trophy owners. :tt2

Watched the game and saw the big Steelers flag among all the US flags. Very cool.

BTW it is never :loser when your country's National Team in any sport spanks another country. Anyone who thinks so is a freakin traitor and deserves a one way ticket to Gitmo

Real Americans wouldn't last 10 minutes in a soccer game b/c we'd just start a rumble and have our fans boycott the game.

SOCCER should be punishable by death :tt1

I put soccer up there with MLB, the NBA and even,
dare I say it, NCAA b-ball....screw all of them...even my
childhood second favorite NASCAR is a freakin' glamour-boy,

A woman after my own heart. Football #1, and it is not even close. Hockey is definitely #2. Everything else is useful only if I want to catch a nice afternoon nap.

Agreed on the NFL #1, NHL #2, everything else ranks up there with doing the dishes.

Except hunting and fishing. Now THAT'S cool.

I finally found a way to mesh the Steelers with hunting. Last time I was up
for training camp, I found a camo hat with a Steeler logo on it.

Figured that's part of the reason I dropped that nice 8 point this year!

I saw a guy at Bass Pro with one of those. Too cool!

Now if they only had deer hunting worth a doo doo in CA.

Maybe I'll just leave here............

Everywhere indeed. We are going to have to get a "Steeler Gear on TV sighting" sticky thread...I swear.

My dad is watching MSNBC coverage of President Obama departing Peoria, IL on Air Force One. They have some supporters cheering behind a baracade that he went to greet when he got out of the limo. And this guy in the crowd had a Terrible Towel!!!!

Columbus, Peoria, D.C....the invasion is in full effect.

WOW, i couldn't have said it better myself.

I'd rank MLB a distant 3rd only b/c it's a classic, but poop on the rest.

Soccer take this :moon
NBA take this :moon

Not sure what you are left with after

American Football: Invented by Canadians
Hockey: Invented by Canadians
Basketball: Invented by a Canadian
Baseball: Modified version of rounders

You can't be serious . . . us Americans took football to the level it is today. the Soccer playing Europeans and the little pigtailed fairy sister Canada might take credit in it's origination, but the Grand Ol' USA created football as it's known today.
If football was left up to Canadian ideas it would look more like the CFL . . .

The forward Pass revolutionized the game and was started by an IVY League, Penn University man with red, white and blue blood. :moon

PLUS James Naismith might have been born and raised in Canada (schooled in Monteal just over the border from NY) but he invented basketball in Springfield, MA, coached in Kansas, never to return to Canada as a resident. So he like all Americans was an Immigrant. A Canadian Imigrant :moon

Hockey is cool, thank you Canada

Plus don't forget, Canada isn't internation anymore thanks to NAFTA :moon
