Today marks the 14th anniversary of meeting my best friend, my wife.
She has brought so much to my life that I can't express it all. What I love, she loves, what I do she does, what I want she brings to me. My feelings are important to her and she values my opinions.
She is fun and real, she is alive and honest. She thinks of me and tries to make each event, each moment, each task better. She asks if there is anything I need, and sometimes just surprises me with what she knows I love.
She is my friend.
When I hold her I feel like the luckiest man in history. When she needs me it energizes me to be there for her. She is a caring, feeling person, so she cries at times. She hates it, but those tears are my motivation to change the orbit of the Earth. When she laughs the whole world changes.
I am her friend.
Together we have endured the funniest things, the most romantic times, the biggest disappointments and the most amazing blessings. The future holds more for us. We don't know what, but we know Him, the holder of the future, and know that we will do more than endure anything. We will abound in it. We will remake it and bring good to others in it.
She brought two children to me at marriage and gave me one more. She chose my son as hers. They fill me and challenge me. They make me laugh and make me proud. At times I want to beat them, and at times I want to support them to the top.
They are my friends.
She is cute and crazy. She is sexy and thoughtful. She always smells good and looks good. She wishes she looked better, but still stops my heart with her looks. I notice other me looking at her, and I love to catch their eye when they do.
She is MY friend.
I hope you all get to know love like I do. You can't know someone like my wife and not know that love is transcendent. Divine. Invented by God.
To my Pam. I give you my life again. I need you and love you. I crave you and belong to you. I pray for you and long for you.
I am yours.
Hugh
