I dont get how they can say th Pats* are the team of the decade without even mentioning spygate. Not only did the Pats cheat the whole decade 2 of the championship games directly effected us reaching the big game.
The same goes when they try and say is Ben elite like Brady and Manning , lets see Brady knew all the defensive calls other than his almost undefeated season none of his stats should even count and he should be banned rom the HOF.
Then you compare Manning to Ben and although i'd have to agree with him being a better pure passer he crumbles under presure where as Ben thrives. Ben has 2 super bowl wins to Mannings 1 in half the time. Ben has more wins in first 5 years than either of them.

Oh well next years battle cry should be " ONE FOR THE MIDDLE FINGER ".

the pats the team of the decade? that is funny. they have also thrived in one of the worst divisions of the decade. the jets dolphins and bills have stunk for a while now. at least in the north you have 2 good teams year in and out. the steelers also won the sb as the 6th seed and dominated in the post season that year. the pats won 3 sb's by a combined 12 points or something like that. also the decade isnt over yet. one more season!!!

Next year's battle cry should be..."Our second decade of dominance." Back-to-back plus the 2005 SB and I think we become the team of the "ought decade?" or would it be the "zeroes decade?"

Of course, next year and its results are a long way off. Enjoy #6 SteelerNation!

ok, you guys know my heart so go easy on the flame.

the Pats have been in 4 SB's, won 3. They have a terrific win/loss record in the playoffs. Two of their SB's they beat us at home to get there.

yes, I am convinced they cheated. yes, I am convinced the NFL (with Rooney's approval) destroyed the evidence to preserve the league. I am convinced their achievements will always be tainted and when discussed will include the word 'but'.

nevertheless, no one in the media will go against the NFL. by virtue of results alone the Pats are the team of the decade. For us to complain about spygate is similar to seahags and cards complaining about the refs. it is what it is.

now ask me if I give a dam$........we all know the truth.

Regardless of what I feel or think, "they" will annoint the Pats* as the team of the decade. What I don't know is (and am too lazy to research now) comparative winning percentatges in the decade. How many years did each team miss the playoffs, etc.

I don't think you can compare us to Seahag or Card-anals fans. There is visual evidence that the entire world can see where the refs blew/didn't blow calls.

There was visual evidence that nobody really got to see that they severely cheated and gained an advantage. The cloud will always exist. And until someone can come out and definitively say it wasn't used as an advantage, they can't be considered in my mind.

we're talking decade Frank, that was over 20 years ago.......... :tt1 :tt1

of course if we win next year as well WITHOUT cheating like the pats, I think the argument is over. It's the Steelers baby!!!!!

I think right now they will be considered the team of the oughts but if we were to win next year I think it would be remembered more as a decade of two dynasties with the Pats being 1 and the Steelers being 1A (especially if we were to beat them in the playoffs).

They have actually been to 6 losing the first 2 (85,96) and the last one (07) and winning the 3 in the middle (01, 03 & 04).

Which is better 3-1 or 3-0?

The answer to that question will give you the team of the decade if the Steelers happen to win back-to-back SBs by winning it again next year.

If the Steelers can manage to win 2 more, it will put an argument to rest. Until then, the Pats will be considered the team of the decade.

Can only win one more this decade, unless, they go by the start of the season and not when the SB is played. The "ought" decade would be 2000 thru 2009 and the "10" decade would be 2010 thru 2019, at least, that's how I would classify them, since you can only have 10 years in a decade.

Just sayin... :tt2

To paraphrase Tomlin:

"I don't walk past 'team of the decade" trophies at work. I do walk by SB trophies."

I couldn't care less. Everything the Steelers do is classy. Everything Bellicheat did is tainted. Always will be. That's good enough for me.

The pats* are to the 2000's as the Dolphins were to the 1970's.

The Dolphins only won two, but did so without cheating, and had the leagues ONLY undefeated season.

Not sure if you're aware, but the pats* have never had an undefeated season.

Never.
