got absolutely abused by the rook today.
I mean, flacid only threw about 10 balls today, and it seems like each one went for about 45 yards right at hope or his assignment.

I'm one of the few who is real glad he's not on the black and gold anymore...

There have been many on the board that thought Hope was a good safety. His play was exactly how I remember him as a Steeler, always about 2 or 3 steps late.

he was constantly getting bowled over in run support, and made a ton of tackles because?

as you guessed it, 2-3 steps late.

I'll take ryan clark all day and TWICE on sundays.

Agreed on all counts. Seemed like lack of focus with that late safety help.

And he made made the pro bowl didn't he?

The Steelers defense improved when Hope left. Classic example of addition by subtraction.

I called him Lee Flowers when he was here and he hasn't done anything to make me want to remove that moniker.

This team did a phenomenal thing when it added Ryan Clark to the roster. The guy is a competitor and hits like an LB.

Agreed. Clark does the "running over" instead of being run over. 8)

And they though when Hope left it was Anthony Smith's spot to win........that sure wasn't the case. Even if Smith played better, he still isn't as good as Clark.

Agreed on all acounts. THAT is the Chris Hope I remember.Especially in coverage. Very flat footed and almost always a few steps out of position.
