That just happened.

:owned :ratsuck

The best thing about Ward was how he disguised it well by appearing to engage the guy closer to him then just threw down the hammer on Reed unexpectedly, don't let your guard down... :Steel

As much as I defend Hines, and love the way he plays, he did lead with his helmet there. But hell, who cares, it was against the Ravens. :)

"Leading w/ yur helmet" is so blown out of proportion.

The rule was meant really for defenseless receivers and for blatant spearing i.e. Donnie Shell sticking Campbell in the ribs. In fact, I think the rule should be renamed "spearing" to eliminate some of these horribly subjective calls.

Of course players dip their heads somewhat on tackles. Who would lead with their face and risk neck injury/whiplash? Yeah, I know yer supossed to lead w/ your shoulder but even then you dip your head i.e. hines' hit on Rivers. I mean, should runningbacks be penalized when they put their head down running through a hole or taking on a tackler?

I lie the spirit of the rule but it's just overblown somewhat imo.

That shot on reed was clean....and genius the way he disguised it as someone mentioned. Hines has to be one of the most, if not THEE most, agressive offensive "skill" players to ever play. Hall of fame entrance on his blocks alone imo. I know I'm a homer but I never thought Hines was dirty or cheap. He plays before the whistle b;pws and I've never seen him go low after a guys knees or the like. But you best be aware of where he is if you're chasing down a runner because he will jack your sh!t up!

Edit: On second glance he surely didn't have to stick his head under reed's chin. Oh well... :ratsuck

watching the replay, I wish Hines would have stopped calling for the trainers and turned to make another block. He could have definitely picked off another one of those guys running his way.

That would have put him to legend status like the time Brooks Orpik scored 12 hits in 10 seconds against the Redwings in the Stanley Cup Finals and knocked half their team out for the game.

I was thinking the exact same thing D. That hit was a classic. I think Hines was laughing too damn hard to make another block though. :Clap

I'd love to have a repeat of domination like that stellar performance from last year.... only this time in their house. I'd love to see some bodies flying around... ratbird bodies.

The Harrison hit on Reed is so awesome that you can't take your eye off the hit itself. However, try to show some self-control and focus on the ball instead. When Harrison hits Reed, the ball goes about 15 yards backwards and about 25 yards up in the air. Timmons could have fair caught that freakin' thing. Amazing.

We really have been extremely spoiled as fans. The punishment our team has dealt out over the past two seasons on both sides of the ball is nothing short of astounding. It seems like every week the intensity meter gets turned up higher and higher. Of course it will peak with the Tennessee game and then we have to take a dump when we play Cleveland. But don't you feel better after you have a great excretion of excrement?

:Agree

Yes we are spoiled. I love it when we whip others like that physically. It's the way this sport is meant to be played.

Case in point....
