View Full Version : Chad "Ocho Stinko" Johnson de-activated tonight

Breaking news on Sirius NFL Radio:

CJ was deactivated for tonight's game for violating a team rule.

No other details but John Riggins absolutely flamed him and called him a disgrace and compared him to a WWE wrestler. We already knew that.

And this really doesn't affect tonight's game much since Fitzpatrick likely will not get one pass off tonight.

Wow! All this after he was talking about being a changed man and having a new perspective on the sport on the NFL channel. So much for that. So let me try and figure this out Chris Henry breaks the law multiple times and he's rewarded with a contract to play again. Chad Johnson breaks some team rule and he's deactivated...interesting. The organization is in shambles.

Oh well. Chris Henry will start in his place. Substitute one waste of talent for another.

Perhaps he is afraid of the Steelers. Ike Taylor makes him look bad every time. He tried getting out of the playoff game by punching coaches during halftime. Now, he must have decided to get out of the game before it starts rather than having to suffer through even half a game of getting pounded.

Couple of things. One, Chad Johnson has got to realize that being a changed man is going to require more than just him taking his gold teeth out for the interview.

Two, The Chris Henry thing was hilarious. There was an article printed right before the season, in Sports Illustrated, about how things in Bungleland were different, because Marvin Lewis has decided to take a zero-tolerance approach. The article rested this fact on the the actions taken by Lewis and the FO to put guys like Chris Henry behind them. Only problem is one day before that issue of SI was released to the public, the Bengals resigned Chris Henry to a contract. :P

The Bengals should just voluntarily withdraw from the NFL. Over the years, a lot of this crap has been entertaining, especially for us Steeler fans. But now its just getting ridiculous.

The Bumgals are reaping what they sowed when they sacrificed any type of standards to bring in players who they thought could help them win. They got one good season and have now returned to being the jokes of the NFL. The win at all costs mentality rarely works long term at any level. If early in his career the organization had clamped down on CJ then he would not be a problem now. Instead they pandered to his every whim and he has taken advanatage of it.

In addition to the organization the fans deserve what they are getting because they ignored all the bad behavior in a deperate hope to win. "Who Dey? Dey aint nothing!" This franchise is as big a joke as Oakland and they don't have a senile fool to blame. If the NFL ever wanted to go back to Los Angeles take the Bumgals because they have nothing to lose.

They could've traded this bum before the season is the funny thing.

The Bungles...where every decision is the wrong decision.

Now TJ Houshmangina is a free agent next season...dude is gone...Brown won't franchise him either, it will be too expensive for his taste. Hence them drafting two WR's.

Palmer is going to be there wondering what the heck happened. He went from a decent high powered offense with a good rb and two fairly stud WRs that were rather productive, to nothing...backups....He better hope those rookies develop...but I doubt it.

OCHO SNOOZE-O?
Posted by Mike Florio on November 20, 2008, 11:41 a.m. EST
Our friends at 1530 Homer in Cincinnati tell us that, according to Bengals radio play-by-play guy Brad Johansen, receiver Chad Johnson’s one-game deactivation resulted not from any altercation, but from the fact that Johnson missed a team meeting.

By oversleeping.

Per Johansen, Johnson begged coach Marvin Lewis not to bench him for Thursday night’s game, but Lewis said that the rules are the rules.

The move represents a dramatic change for Lewis, who had been criticized in the past by players who believed that a separate set of rules applied to Johnson.

UPDATE: Johansen has posted the Ocho Snooze-o account on his blog, too.

Yea, it's real easy to lay down the law when you have nothing to play for. Real dramatic change there.

Good point. He wouldn't do it if he were in the hunt.

I just can't imagine that the ownership can sit back and let them be flamed by the fanbase of the NFL for so long. Every press release, every rumor, every comment seems to point out how deeply pathetic that organization is.

The ownership should fire everyone and start over. What do they have to lose? It's so bad that I can't find words to describe how I would feel if I had any stake in that mess.

Its been so bad, for so long that I would think the problem starts with ownership. I think the organization needs a complete new start. And that would only happen if the owners decide to sell.

Hey, at least Raider fans only have to wait until Davis dies. That could be any day now

I believe the Weekend at Bernies photoshop was done using Belichick. There were plenty of classic Al Davis shots, though.

Ike does do a good job on Chad, but not on Henry. So at least against the steelers this should be an upgrade for us. But I agree with the earlier comment, no way we get enough time to throw the ball with our O-Line...

Work as been kicking my arse, which is why I've been absent as of late. 160 hours in the last two weeks, but I guess I can't complain in this economy. I'll be jumping on a plane in about 20 minutes, so I won't be around for the gameday thread.

I have my DVR set to record the game though, so I'll definitely will be watching it when I get back home.

Also I think you guys should drink a beer for every sack you get... :Beer :Beer :Beer
