Not sure though how a rookie CB is going to help us, since our need is now, not down the road. I guess if there are no FAs, that may be the best we can do ... not entirely reassuring for tomorrow afternoon's game ...

Steelers Release Dallas Baker, Promote Cornerback
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ? The Steelers have announced the promotion of rookie cornerback Roy Lewis to their active roster.

Lewis was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Washington but was waived after training camp.

Lewis spent the first 10 weeks of the season on the Steelers' practice squad.

To make room on the roster for Lewis, the team released wide receiver Dallas Baker, the Steelers' 7th round pick out of Florida from the 2007 NFL Draft.

Baker made the team's active roster in this year after spending the 2007 season on the team's practice squad.

This season, Baker played in eight games and had one catch for six yards.

Only problem is that in the sentence about releasing Baker they did not mention resigning Willie Reid.

What player would you drop to pick up Ried? Maybe Orpheus since the DL seems to be pretty healthy right now.
