I thought stapleton MORE than stepped up to replace simmons.
not that an injury is a good thing, but we may never have seen how good he is if it wasn't for simmons going down.

He played very well I thought.

He made a tremendous block on MM's first run of the night!

Right on, birt dude .... if you don't hear his name called, he's doing great! I'm really glad we got to see him on the field.

Well, I've said all along that Simmons is garbage and we wouldn't miss him. I've yet to see anything to convince me otherwise. 8)

i know this is harsh but it wouldn't bother me if kendall was out for the rest of his career.......

A lot of folks were saying the injury may be a difficult one for him to come back from. I wonder what the salary cap damage will be?

I seem to remember Simmons bonus being in the 8 million dollar range. Since we are a year or two into his contract, I'd guess we'd be on the hook for 5-6.5 million. It is a tough pill to swallow, but probably worth it.

The way I see it, taking 5-6.5 million a hit would be better than taking a 100 million dollar hit because he can't protect the QB.

I thought the interior line play was pretty good last night. Ben was able to step up in the pocket quite a bit. Overall, we look like a better team with Stap and Hartwig vs. Kendall and Mahan. Plus, they have 2 weeks to get some cohesion.
