Torn Patellar Tendon in Practice, ouch. Another starter bites the dust.

They seem to think that because they added Williams and Rogers that they will suddenly have a much improved pass rush. However, in a 3-4, the primary pressure is designed to come from the linebackers with the 3 guys up front occupying multiple blockers so that the LB's will be free to make plays. However, Kamerion Wimbley regressed after a strong rookie campaign (from 11 sacks to 5). Now the only other OLB's they have are the older than dirt Willie McGinest (I swear I thought he's been retired for at least a year now...who knew?) and rookie 7th round pick Alex Hall from Division II St. Augustine. Those sorry corners are going to get eaten alive back there without the necessary pressure.

Browns will be lucky to be 8-8. They will find out they don't have a QB and that Lewis got his contract and is done running hard.

The only question will be whether the Bumgals or Browns give up the most points in the league.

I'll give you 10 to 1 odds that the Bengals will not give up the most points in the NFL this season. Our defense is getting better but it will go unnoticed if our offense (Mainly the O-Line) continues to digress.

As for the injury, Browns still have Wimbley and D'Qwell Jackson but not much after that. I can't wait to see Eric Wright go into a sophomore slump when the "improved" pass rush fails him. I think Peek was supposed to be one of their pass rush "specialists" along with Wimbley so this could be a big blow for the Browns...

If he's smart, he'll get out of town for his rehab, before he ends up w/ a staph infection...
