According to reports, Ben Roethlisberger will undergo surgery to fix his broken nose that he suffered in the first quarter of a hard earned 13-10 victory over the division rival Baltimore Ravens.

During the game, the Pittsburgh Steelers sideline reported Big Ben did NOT break his nose but all reviewers including the announcers could see Roethlisberger’s nose and it most certainly looked broken regardless of the sideline reports. After the game, Roethlisberger confirmed that he had a broken nose.

Roethlisberger broke his nose on Pittsburgh's first series when Baltimore’s Haloti Ngata fist hit Roethlisberger in the face. Ngata was not penalized on the play which again begs the question on whether the league has targeted the Pittsburgh Steelers and don’t apply the same standard to other teams.

"Someone just came through and a hand got through my facemask," Roethlisberger said after the game. "The next thing you know, I feel blood running down my face."

He spent much of the following series trying to stop the bleeding, and his jersey was soon spattered with blood.

Roethlisberger, already playing with a broken bone in his foot, still went 22 for 38 for 253 yards.

Do you disagree with the NFL commissioner's latest ruling? Why does it seem like Goodell is on the fast pace to ruining the best game in all of sports? To voice your concerns and disagreements, contact the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell at his NFL office via the information listed below:

Phone: 212.450.2027
Email: Roger.Goodell2@nfl.net

Perhaps we should ask the NFL Commissioner himself some of these questions:

1) How can a player get fined and/or suspended when the hit was legal and not penalized on the field?

2) Why is the NFL selling posters/prints and DVD's of these illegal hits on it's website? They are profiting from the fines but yet they are profiting from selling merchandise! How about that for corruption?! By the way, where does all the money for these fines go?

3) Why does the ESPN, Fox, CBS, NFL Network, etc promote these type of hits via segments like "Jacked Up"? Why is the NFL and these networks allowed to promote such illegal activity?

I think the fans should suspend and fine Roger Goodell. Better yet, he should be fired. The commissioner is making a very good attempt at ruining the best game in all of sports.

Sporting News reporter Mike Florio confirms his stupidity in his latest article. Florio provides us a list of 5 players that should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame compared to 5 players that should not be included in the Hall of Fame.

Florio is so biased against the Steelers it's almost humorous but yet exhausting. Purely opinionated, most consider Florio and Pro Football Talk the paparazzi of the National Football League (NFL) reporting.

In his list of 5 players that should NOT be in the Hall of Fame include both Dick Lebeau and Lynn Swann. Out of all the players in the Hall of Fame, Florio picks 2 Steelers in his list of 5. Big Surprise!

If Florio looks at Lebeau's statistics like he does everyone else, then he'll see that Lebeau clearly deserves his Hall of Fame bid.

Lynn Swann not deserving to be in the Hall of Fame is laughable. Maybe the most clutch wide receiver in playoff and Super Bowl history. He compares Swann's stats which are in fact on the low end, to today's players.

Someone needs to tell Florio to wake up.... Swann played in a completely different era and mostly in a run first offense. How can you possibly compare Swann to a wide receiver of today which is a "pass first" league?

I guess Florio doesn't take in consideration a players playoff appearances & wins as well of Super Bowl rings in his analysis of who should get into the Hall of Fame.

If Florio still has any sport writer credibility left, he lost it all in his latest article:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=tsn-fivewhoshouldbeinthehallo20100806
