Pittsburgh vs. Denver: The Keys to a Steelers Win

Sunday's AFC Playoff game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos is the type of matchup the Steelers need to start their run towards the Super Bowl. And the only thing Pittsburgh needs to do to secure a win is play Steelers' football.

The key matchup in Sunday's tilt is between Denver's offense and Pittsburgh's defense.

Tim Tebow's inability to throw the ball has been well documented this season. And because of Denver's lack of a pass game, the Broncos and coach John Fox have heavily relied on the run, and they led the NFL in rushing this season.

The Broncos have built their offense around Tim Tebow. It's more of a college-type offense than a pro-style. And yet somehow, it worked well enough for Denver to land in the playoffs. However, in the last three games, the offense has struggled and the Broncos found themselves stumbling into the playoffs. And those three games were against three middle-of-the-pack defenses.

Colorado Springs A Gathering Place For Steelers Fans

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KDKA) — Steeler fans live everywhere – including Broncos territory.

Fans of the Black and Gold pack the Dublin House in Colorado Springs, Colo., whenever the Steelers are in action.

“Everybody’s yelling, ‘Here we go Steelers!’” Bill Lehman, a North Canton, Ohio, native, said. “You would think you were in the stadium as noisy as it is, it’s great!”

Colorado Springs is a Steeler nation hotbed.

“I think it has to do with all the military that’s around here,” Dion Julian, an Oakwood native, said.

Eric Shaw has shown his Steelers pride around the world with the military, but it’s not always easy.

“With a wife from Baltimore, it’s a lot more difficult than it should be,” he said.

The Dublin House is full of amenities from the ‘Burgh to make this place home year-round and you won’t find a lot of respect here for Bronco’s QB Tim Tebow.

“He’s still back in college,” Mimi Schwab, a Rochester native, said. “Ben is the true NFL quarterback.”

The Dublin House will contribute two busloads of fans to the crowd at Mile High, joining the Steeler fans arriving from Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh fans also gather at the Overtime Bar.

“It’s about 150 to 200 people in there and it’s all family everybody whether you’re from Pittsburgh or you are just a Steelers fan you all fit into the same bucket,” Willie Kalaskie, from Peters Township, said.

Terry and Tim Ryan, both from Gibsonia, will be in Mile High Stadium on Sunday.

“Steeler fans are there in abundance, so you feel right at home,” Terry said.
