Flacco the Crybaby at it Again – Throws Shots at the League and Tebow

Ravens QB Joe Flacco – aka the Crybaby – is at it again.

Flacco has taken to the media to complain about the media coverage that Broncos QB Tim Tebow is getting, basically saying that he and his birds get no coverage, while Tebow is getting tons.

“I like Tim, but you have a tendency to want to — I don’t want to see Tim do bad — but look what happens after he wins a football game,” Flacco told a local radio station in Baltimore, via NFL.com. “If you watched ‘SportsCenter’ today, it was Tim Tebow then something else, Tim Tebow then something else, and Tim Tebow then something else. When we beat the Steelers, were we on TV? No. I couldn’t even find a Baltimore Ravens highlight. I think that’s kinda the way it is around Baltimore. We don’t always get our respect but you gotta deal with it and go out there every week and just win football games.”

Boo-Hoo Joey, another enduring statement from a QB that has no trips to the Super Bowl under his belt, and better yet has choked the most when it counted – the playoffs.

The crying about Tebow drew a great response from one of the guys that loves to beat on him – Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley. Relaying the news to his followers, Woodley tweeted: “Is it me or does some1 sound jealous? LOL!!”

Flacco and the Ravens are on Sunday night football, as they have been a couple of times this season, and still the whining QB went on to say “I just think we’re disrespected as an organization when it comes to the media,” crybaby said.

While it’s no doubt that Tebow is getting a ton of media attention, like it or not he’s one of the better stories in the NFL this season, and he’s led Denver to an 8-5 record after 13 games, this after they were 1-4 when he was sitting the bench.

Why Flacco won’t just keep his mouth shut and look to play better is beyond me. Then again, why does it surprise me at all when it comes from a team of guys that can whine with the best of them.

NFL rejects appeal of Harrison’s suspension

The National Football League Friday upheld the one-game suspension of Steelers linebacker James Harrison, who will not play Monday night in San Francisco against the 49ers. Harrison appealed the suspension — the result of a helmet-to-helmet hit on Cleveland quarterback Colt McCoy Dec. 8 — Wednesday to NFL-NFLPA officer Ted Cottrell, who Friday morning sided with the league.

Nine days after suffering a sprained ankle that didn’t keep Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger from finishing a game against the Browns, Roethlisberger officially has a 50-50 chance of playing on Monday night against the 49ers. The team has announced that Roethlisberger is questionable. On last night’s episode of NBC SportsTalk, Peter King explained that mixed…

McCoy photo prompts NFL to change procedures for selling game pictures

Last year, after a rash of helmet-to-helmet hits prompted the NFL to pay closer attention to the issue via more aggressive rules enforcement, the NFL also was selling photos of some of the helmet-to-helmet hits.  Once made aware of the situation, the NFL asked the third party responsible for managing the league’s photo store to…

Pouncey ‘Not Expected’ To Play, Roethlisberger May Miss Monday Night

Tribune-Review reporter Gerry Dulac tweeted Saturday C Maurkice Pouncey isn’t expected to play in Pittsburgh’s Week 15 game at San Francisco. He’s recovering from a high ankle sprain sustained in Week 14.

QB Ben Roethlisberger was limited in practice Friday, and did not practice Thursday. If he cannot practice today, he will not play Monday.

Starting LG Doug Legursky will replace Pouncey at center, and veteran OL Trai Essex will move over to the left guard position.

QB Charlie Batch will start in place of Roethlisberger.

It’s a rough game to be without Pouncey or Roethlisberger. San Francisco is the league’s top scoring defense (14 points a game), and is fourth in yards per game (305.1). With the Steelers trailing only San Francisco in scoring defense (15.2, and having surrendered just 19 points in their last three games (3-0), it looks like the defense will have to step up if Pittsburgh is to pull off a road win.

SS Troy Polamalu has been limited in practice this week, but is still expected to play. Jason Worilds, who will start over the suspended James Harrison, may face a back-up himself, as it appears LT Joe Staley may not be able to play for the 49ers. Staley suffered concussion-like symptoms in San Francisco’s 21-19 loss at Arizona in Week 14. Alex Boone would replace him in that situation.
